I worked at Schott Corporation as an intern (more than an year)

    Pros

Probably one of the better internships you'll find in Westchester County. Employees are friendly, managers are very flexible and the workload can range from light to heavy depending on your department (IT, Marketing, HR, A/P, A/R, Payroll, Management etc.)

You WILL be challenged. There is always something to do and your managers/ co-workers are always willing to help!

Minutes away from Pace University, Tappan Zee Bridge.

    Cons

Pay is not competitive. Not much vertical growth. Very few interns become full-time employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Great job fostering a secure, friendly and happy atmosphere.

I have been working at Schott Corporation

    Pros

As an intern, you get real work rather than your regular internship. Flexible schedule and makes sure school comes first.

    Cons

Not much mobility since it's such a small office they aren't many positions open.

    I worked at Schott Corporation

    Pros

Local management was excellent - very supportive, recognized achievements, did their best to utilize ideas provided by employees. Pay was competitive.

    Cons

There is a serious disconnect between corporate management in Germany and local management in the U.S. Germany would often try to shove misguided programs down the throat of a business that is already doing very well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To the guys in Germany: If you are going to implement a program, make sure you send trained trainers to each site to help with implementation. Local management often had no idea what you wanted.
