    Pros

Good pay, good benifits, good people, and a good job to have. Cdl is ok.

    Cons

long hours, hard to get people to run route correcly when you have time off, CDL rules are sometimes hard to maintain.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work with all drivers a little more. This will help. Good drivers are hard to find. Keep them. I heard pay has changed.

I have been working at Schwan's full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people, and quality senior leadership are fueling the turnaround process. You have the opportunity to work cross functionally as well as closely with senior leaders.

    Cons

Company has multiple divisions that have acted on their own until recently. The pay and benefits are average at best.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company is heading in the correct direction. The division presidents are all quality individuals that lead passionately and genuinely.

    Pros

Long time company, job security. They reimburse for mileage at the high end, as well as fuel cards

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Schwan's full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

You get to drive around and meet lots of great people while on routes. As with any sales position, you have the power to increase your paycheck through hard work and learning. Many RSRs will help each other to be better. New CEO and President seem to have stabilized the company.

    Cons

My biggest concern with Home Service is the consistent hiring of people outside the company to be managers and decision makers. They should be promoting from within like they used to do. People who haven't run Schwans routes will not understand the needs and concerns of Schwans routes sales reps. Pay is not what it used to be(but still better than most hourly jobs if you try).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get out of your cushy offices and into the field! Try an "undercover boss" routine if you have the courage! Hopefully your eyes will be opened and you will have more concern for our customers than your internal reports.

    I worked at Schwan's

    Pros

Manufacture a wide variety of products, well-established company, own their plants

    Cons

Over the last several years, they seem to have hired many senior executives who were let go from other companies. Poor attitudes and interpersonal skills of such individuals have really changed the culture to one of lower quality and it has greatly increased turnover.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be consistent. Make your managers have high standards and have someone watching to make sure they are held to those standards.
