    Pros

Benefits were good to above average initially

    Advice to Management

Some upper management needs to be replaced. This day and age, nepotism should no longer be a factor.

    Pros

Work and life balance encouraged and supported. I was fortunate to have great management and work with a great team.

    Cons

The nature of contract work is that you are hired for a particular project and sometimes that doesn't mean you can easily move into other positions to grow professionally. However, my experience is that SRC is a very solid company and employer.

I worked at Scientific Research full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company gives effort to transferring you if project funding is loss Big office location leads to many networking opportunities

    Cons

When money is low, employee extras are the first to go (Christmas party, 401K match, etc) Not many cohesive, company-wide events so environment is limited to individual's project

    Advice to Management

The advice depends on the manager but overall just be interested in the weeds...don't manage from such a high level that you lose sight of the project's purpose

    Pros

Benefits are good. Great people to work with. Decent pay-scale.

    Cons

Private share company. No chance to re-invest in the company. Will low-ball your wage. Contract might suck.

    Advice to Management

Quit treating techs like a dime a dozen

    Pros

Good pay, flexible schedule, they don't stand over your shoulder

    Cons

It's all about "who" you know at this company, lots of back door deals. Shady ethics....

    Pros

Supportive and will work hard to make sure you have a contracting spot, even if they have to float you for a bit.

    Cons

Little active career management. No bonuses.

    Advice to Management

Do a better job reaching out to clients to find out employee performance level and what could be worked on.

I worked at Scientific Research full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

co-workers and direct management are excellent!!,. great atmosphere in the North Charleston office,.. really miss working for them,.. a security clearance kept me from an upcoming contract and just wish they'd kept me onboard until resolved,.. but otherwise a superb company to work for!

    Cons

hard to find anything bad,.. only exception is have transitioning work available to sustain employees when ending a contract and picking up another,.. and SRC needs to put an end to contractor bullying,..

    Advice to Management

stop letting "out of company" leadership i.e., SPAWAR management,.. determine who SRC chooses to work a contract,.. that should be SRC's decision alone and not coerced by SPAWAR,.. there have been a lot of SPAWAR leadership that comes and goes and at their whim I've seen great SRC employees "let go" because a SPAWAR employee who may only stick around for a few months or just through a contract not agree,.. SRC needs backbone to put an end to the contract bullying!
