Advice to Senior Management
Listen to feedback
Pros
Very good work life balance. Usually 8~5 working hour. People are nice and easy to get alone with. location is good.
Cons
not good IT system. 3 level bank. The management level people think their target is number 3 in any area (not like other bank wants to be number one!)
Advice to Senior Management
No too much I can say about it. Please keep the work and life balance, that's what attract people here!
Pros
The salary and benefits are good, they give you opportunities to learn and develop skills. The atmosphere is very comfortable.
Cons
I was in a small room that I shared with four other people. It became quite crowded at noisy at some points but overall there isn't many bad things to say about Scotia Capital.
Pros
team work, good experience, a lot of training and learning oppotunities
Cons
lack of managment skills, does not know what employee needs
Pros
There might be some space for learning, if you are a person who cares about environment more than the job you will find it horrible.
Cons
People ignore you all the time. They are nice when you talk to them but that's about it. What really happens is that they are nice to you in front but talks behind your back. Unreasonable personal complains goes to management and gets splashed onto you without a chance to explain. It is bad to have someone talk behind your back and it is even worse to be unable to find out who it is and gets the blame anyway.
Advice to Senior Management
Need more interaction between employees. Waving and saying "hello" or "good bye" when someone enters/leaves the office would be nice for a change. Management needs to step up and solve problems and conflicts between employees and not just dump it on the one who's the victim.
Pros
- high caliber of people
- relatively better culture compared to other banks capital market
- very fast paced and make things happen attitude
Cons
- not a leader in Canadian capital markets
- relatively small in the global scale
- limited global recognition
Advice to Senior Management
- need to develop the bank to be a true international bank in capital market
- need to take some risks in order to expand quickly
Pros
Excellent Benefits Excellent Benefits Excellent Benefits
Cons
Lower salary than the competition
Advice to Senior Management
Raise salary!
Pros
Great team building and support. Lots of room to grow. Many different job opportunities.
Cons
Very big organization, it is hard to get accurate information. Technology is also not up to date and slows you down.
Advice to Senior Management
Work on a technology system that will help and support your staff, making their jobs easier.
