Former Employee – worked at Scripps Networks as an intern for less than a year
Pros – Warm environment and staff, great communication between staff, interesting company to work for.
Cons – Different brands and departments are separated, there isn't much communication with staff outside of the brand/department. Big company, not much room to grow, if you want to be able to play an active role in product creation, work at a start up instead.

Current Employee – been working at Scripps Networks full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Creative, passionate people who care deeply about their company and its brands' subject matter of Food, Lifestyle and Shelter. Amazing city to plant its headquarters in, Knoxville is a leader in quality of life, cost of living affordability, etc.
Cons – Sometimes slow to adopt new(er) technologies and practices. Many layers of bureaucracy decisions must pass through before impact.

Former Employee – worked at Scripps Networks full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Food Network, HGTV, Cooking Channel, DIY Network and Travel Channel. :0)
Friendly people, happy environment, wonderful workplace...the digital teams are making a concerted effort to move towards an agile environment, new York city's food network offices are extremely forward looking and have strong leadership. The offices in nyc and Knoxville are top notch facilities and the brands really are a part of the corporate culture.
Cons – Work and promotions centralized through Knoxville, Tennessee. Differences in work attitudes between the north and the south are obvious, new York tends to work 10am to 7pm and Tennessee tends to be more 9:30 - 12:00 then 1:00 - 5:00 pm (blanket statement alert), visiting offices is strongly encouraged as the email/outlook culture is alive and well.
But nothing most large organizations and multiple stakeholders don't encounter.
Advice to Senior Management – keep the open dialogue with employees, keep up the great work
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Current Employee – been working at Scripps Networks as an intern for less than a year
Pros – They really want you to succeed in your career. With the internship program, they give you the same work as they would any full-time employee (and they pay you). From what I've heard, they love to pull from their internship program when hiring new full-time employees (especially since they're headquartered in Knoxville, unlike every other media company out of NY or LA).
The people are really friendly, and care about each other.
Cons – Very hierarchical structure where you have to make sure you go through specific channels so as not to upset people (by "going above their heads").
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Scripps Networks full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Open environment and good people working there. High tech and good benefits. Good earning potential. Beautiful part of the country to live in if you like mountains, lakes, hiking, camping, and a college town (University of TN) with great access to music, dining, etc. and no traffic hassles. They have a rush minute.
Cons – Full of 20, 30, and 40 somethings and not as inclusive as they like to brag about being.
Advice to Senior Management – Teach some of your upper managers how to lead and support their reports. Some need serious management training.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
