    Pros

The discount on scrubs. The hours are very reasonable for retail.

    Cons

Where do I start? The truth hurts, but medical professionals are not very nice when they are off the clock. They are fairly demanding, rude, and impatient, so beware having to deal with them after their shift. Retail is rough, but these customers are especially trying.

The point-of-sale system is a JOKE, freezing up dozens of times a day. Special orders make up a lot of the business, but the POS system is not set up to handle them in an efficient manner--it's cumbersome and very time and labor consuming.

This business does not have any environmentally friendly system for recycling set up, even though everything is wrapped in massive amounts of plastic and cardboard.

The home office seems very understaffed, and some of the staff act unprofessional. Maybe they are as fed up with lack of direction as store associates are. This company wants to be big, and sometimes acts like it, but they don't have the acumen to back it up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a point of sale system that works. And is special order efficient. I am tired of hand writing on paper forms. And reduce the amount of paperwork that has to be filled out, filed, etc. We have computers and should not be hand writing so much unneeded information.

    Pros

    Great selections of medical scrubs.

    Cons

Company is run by leadership that has a "retail" only mentality in a multi-channel corporation. Sales leadership is afraid of CEO. Decisions are changed on a weekly basis, Regional managers are simply yes-women with not much going for them in the "creativity" department. Most people in management keep their jobs by deflecting the issues back at the store managers instead of finding solutions. Outside sales force a disappointment, led by individuals with no real track record. Company has no transparency, and will undermine and take credit for the efforts of it's most creative employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Never underestimate former employees that are going to make a difference within the industry.

    Pros

There are really no good reasons to work for this company other than it is a paycheck and a job.

    Cons

The review describing the leadership as mentally ill was very close to the truth. It is getting worse each day. The ceo, Karla does not really have the skills to run a company this big. I don't like to be negative and still stay on the job with a company. But right now I have no choice. Lots of the very qualified people have left. I wish I could too. My advice is to stay away. You will have a nice "honeymoon" period where everything seems fine, but all of a sudden Karla will turn on you. It is hell after that.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I agree with the reviewer who suggested psychotherapy.

    Pros

Great place to work if you are really good at being invisible. When you hear, "Karla or Ryan wants it", then do it - no matter how insane the idea is.

    Cons

They say culture comes from the top down. Well, the CEO is a megalomaniac and the CFO is a narcissist. That pretty much sums it up. Keep your head down, tell them how great their constantly shifting/ridiculous decisions are, and you’ll at least get to keep a paycheck.

    Pros

Excellent selection of merchandise. Good pricing model. Large stores. Very good staff levels. Focus is on customer service and store appearance. Home office staff is willing to help the field.

    Cons

Poor pay scale for store level employees. Only fair benefit structure and excessive cost. Leadership, below the CEO, is made up of managers, not leaders. Most have a "WIIFM" attitude and do not live up to the culture and values promoted.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Evaluate your leadership team and make changes necessary to build morale in the stores.

    Pros

scrubs and beyond attracts some of the most amazing customers in the medical profession. Seeing the happy faces of our customers makes this job fun and exciting. This is a different type of retail because of the amount of outside sales events you'll do in a year. Which is great because you actually go to different hospitals different businesses and actually set up a store which is very exciting. There is lots of traveling involved which can be great.

    Cons

Very dishonest and disorganized company to work for corporate offices have no clue on how to run a company successfully. Human resources is a joke and nonexistent the behavior and moral of human resource department is disgusting and unsupportive to all the employees and is unprofessional and they will down right degrade you as a person. With 27 stores web and catalogs there are only about 30 employees at the corporate. Corporate office tends to make lots of mistakes and will blame store management for those mistakes. There is no leadership or directions in this company. Vice president and store operations manager are unskilled in their duties nor do they have the background justify or support their positions. Advice to any potential job seekers stay away

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To the president of scrubs and beyond This company has the potential to be very successful thoroughly looking at the people you have in charge of your company. Ensure that they are holding the same high standards expected of every employee. Look into hiring outside consulting service to better the human resource and operations at home office to provide better structure. Don't allow human resource or your store operations to bring your company down hold them accountable. Don't allow people to be mistreated or you will continue to lose good managers and good team members
