I worked at Sea Studios Foundation as a contractor for more than a year
Pros – You get to work on neat films about sea life and with neat people from around the world!
Cons – It's a non-stop type of job, tempers can flare irrationally at times... it's a labor of love, and all else will fall by the wayside while you do it.
Advice to Senior Management – Enjoy retirement!

I have been working at Sea Studios Foundation
Pros – Sea Studios has a history of making high-quality documentary material for prestigious venues. Within the documentary world, it's a well-respected studio. If natural history documentary is your passion, this is the place to be. You'll work on quality content and get credits on shows for NGT, PBS, and other high-recognition venues.
Cons – The non-profit status of Sea Studios is due to an unfortunate lack of business acumen; as a film studio, it's insolvent, but as a non-profit, the grants keep rolling in, even if the returns are low. It's very much a dictatorship, and if you aren't totally committed to the political views of the management, then you're in for a rough ride.
Advice to Senior Management – None that would be heeded.

I have been working at Sea Studios Foundation full-time for more than a year
Pros – The company does consistantly attract great individuals to work with them for short periods of time. There is a strikingly low employee and contractor retention rate, which meant that very few people had experience working with eachother. This perhaps created an "all-star" syndrome where individuals rarely worked well as a team.
Cons – Group these creative professionals in a sloppy, dis-organized office setting with a where-are-we-headed management team, and there is plenty of room for confusion. Professional growth is directly stifled by Executive Management.
