I worked at Sea World full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Employees treat each other like family, very friendly atmosphere. Employee cafe by the employee entrance is great. The managers are usually willing to work around your life - especially if you are working several jobs.

    Cons

Long hours but if you communicate that you need the time off management will work something out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some upper management goes unchecked, politics affect quality.

I have been working at Sea World as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

Leaders are very helpful. They work around your schedule. It is a great place to work in, if you don't mind working with people constantly.

    Cons

When you are closing store, it can get very hectic and stressful. You have to stock every stand. Not may hours if you are a seasonal. Not all managers are nice and friendly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Try to be nicer....

Great work for the summer months especially as you continue saving up for college in high school.

I worked at Sea World full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great perks such as free Zoo and Sea World tickets. As of 2011 when I last worked at Sea World, the company treated employees well in terms of perks and inexpensive food at the cafeterias during lunch breaks.

    Cons

If you are a Sophomore or a Junior in college, it would be much better to try to get a job or paid internship that has experience that will likely apply to your career after school. With that being said, if you cannot get a position with practical experience for your job, working at Sea World would be alright if it helps get the bills paid.

I worked at Sea World full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Full benefits for full time employees. Working there long term it turns into one big family.
Its like a little city with there own auto, paint, metal, landscaping & maintenance shop.
At times it may not be the job your doing, but the people you work with that's most beneficial.

    Cons

Difficult to get a full time position.
Often promote from within company before opening up positions to outside company...both good and bad.

I have been working at Sea World full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Lots of knowledge to be gained, decent benefits, Fantastic time off structure. Full time gets 3 weeks optional holiday time off and 2 week vacation time off every year.

    Cons

Stagnation, obvious favoritism, NO career ladder. Lowest starting pay and poor annual raises. This years raise was 2.5% across the board.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work on a solid Career latter.

I worked at Sea World as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

The PRO's about sea world is that it is a place that offers high school students and college students to make extra money over the summer and they pay above minimum wage so you are making a healthy amount of money. Also you get free tickets to sea world, the zoo and the wild animal park while you are an employee there.

    Cons

Challenges include working long hours, dealing with mean guests who are tired and drained from the sun, being called in at random hours in addition to working random hours. The supervisors and leads are usually young individuals, who if you are older might have a hard time taking orders from.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

office culture sucks really bad, they all clique together and outcast new employees. The company hires anybody to be the manager or lead or supervisor, young, old whoever is willing to fill the position. Management was the worst part about working there.

I worked at Sea World part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Getting to interact with guests that are there to learn and enjoy their day makes your day fulfilling. Being around some really cool animals that makes a lot of people jealous is a pretty neat thing. Worked with a great bunch of people in my department.

    Cons

Low pay for job requirements. Work schedule that changes daily - hard to find coverage when you need to be other places. Being exposed to all sorts of weather situations - rain, heat, humidity. Management was not flexible, nor used common sense when working schedules.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You have a lot of great people...work with them on their schedules. You hired educated adults - treat them as such.
