Good pay and opportunities for advancement but often boring projects and poor morale

    I worked at Seabury Group

    Pros

International experience, smart colleagues, good compensation and benefits (health and dental fully paid for, 100% 401K matching, good salary and bonus)

    Cons

Long hours, difficult to take vacation time, generally poor morale following layoffs and lousy projects, minimal training and support compared with larger consulting firms

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Care more about employees, communicate more frequently, keep promises (e.g., have monthly conference calls if you say you're going to)

  2.

    Find another firm.

I have been working at Seabury Group full-time

    Pros

There are no pros to working with this firm.

    Cons

    Poor work/life bablance.
Compensation is well below market rate.
    No training.
No upward mobility - Not a merit based environment, even though they say that they are.
    Poor communication from senior leaders.
No flexibility to use time-off (was told many times that I couldn't take days off on religious holidays).
It's a boys club. Diversity is not encouraged.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Quit.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Seabury Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great pay (but you have to earn it through blood, sweat and tears), good benefit package and probably the best Christmas parties ever. Good place if you want to work in aviation and gain some very good experience.

    Cons

    1. You're expected to put in 48 hours in a 24 hour day
    2. Low morale - Witnessed many public beratings (particularly from the Houston / Dallas staff)
    3. Constant fear of being let go; employees feel no company loyalty
    4. CEO very much so micro-manages
    5. Not remotely accomodating to family issues
    6. Employees are so competitive (out of fear of losing their jobs) that I twice witnessed work sabotage
    7. Sometimes knowlingly gave horribly bad advice to clients

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be "nicer" and more humane to people

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
  6.

I have been working at Seabury Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Diversity of the projects and opportunities

    Aviation & Aerospace focus
    Great carrier opportunities and benefits
    Very diverse environment
    International opportunities

    Cons

Very demanding team/ poor life balance
    Relatively limited training
Big differences between offices (much nicer work environment out of NYC)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    More training
More respect for work balance and attention to the team
Leverage more the amazing aviation brand internally

    Recommends
    Positive Outlook
    Approves of CEO
