Interesting work, good colleagues, family friendly

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsSkill development is encouraged. Pretty good mobility within the company if you want to try a new areas. Company is expanding beyond just hard drives. Flexible hours make it easy to accommodate family stuff. Wide range of work available. Some people like to be narrow specialist and others are broad generalists, both kinds of engineers are valued. Social culture, lots of leagues and civic opportunities. New exciting projects.

ConsTypical big company problems. Occasionally you run into someone who isn't getting the job done. Eventually it gets sorted out, but it can take a while for the hierarchy of management to zero in on the problem. New development is fun, but there is also a fair amount of legacy stuff that is expected to not be touched.

Finally working at my favorite company

    I T (Current Employee)
    Minneapolis, MN

ProsPeople are friendly, job is challenging, planning personal/professional growth is expected. Flexibility for work life balance is encouraged. I really like my management team.

ConsGetting to know your personal resources can be a challenge with a Global company. Sometimes communication gets lost when trying to work through issues.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep solid communication between teams. It saves a lot of problems on big projects that unknowningly cross paths.

Awesome Place to Work, Learn, Grow

    Marketing Manager (Current Employee)
    Cupertino, CA

ProsThe people and environment at Seagate are amazing.
    -Positive Environment
    -Reasonable demands
-Spirit of growth, learning and innovation
    -Realistic expectations of work hours
    -Awesome management
    -Great Learning opportunities

ConsSeagate is an old manufacturing company, it is still a bit slow to adapt.

It's tough to get contracts with vendors executed in a timely manner, making it a bit challenging to meet goals.

Leadership can be a bit harsh and occasionally unrealistic in their demands for speed to market for certain programs.

Every campus has different perks and benefits, so it's hard to speak for the company as a whole, but the Cupertino campus is limited as far as recreational (gym, cafeteria) options, and the locker room is seriously tiny and lacking in privacy.

Advice to Senior Managementtake away some of the red tape and allow us to be more agile
