I have been working at Seagate Technology full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    1) LEADERSHIP! I can't speak for every level, but I can say that my direct manager and his manager are very supportive, focusing on mentoring and building our skill set and acumen.
    2) Culture - again, this is based on department or organization, but we have a team mentality. It is truly a culture based on cooperation and collaboration. (Sales Org) This is a reflection on leadership, and the choices they have made in building a great team.
    3) Flexibility! This may roll under leadership again, but they are very accommodating, very understanding. This holds much more weight that any incremental raise, or frankly even a very large raise! I truly do enjoy what it is I do, and I always feel as if I am valued and part of something larger, greater.

    Cons

    1) Process - The way Sales must interact with collections / pricing. It is improving, but still has a long way to go. Ways to facilitate this are communication and other departments realizing that sales is driving revenue, and as a result, these departments must not just support sales, but work in conjunction with them and show a sense of urgency, pro activeness when approaching their daily routine / duties.
    2) Marketing - Channel Marketing is actually moving the needle, but the department that gets all the marketing funds, AKA Global Marketing is slow to react. When they do react, it is very REACTIONARY and not proactive. Too many politics and the aforementioned process slows down any sort of effort or momentum, if any. As a result, our growth, while evident, isn't fulfilling the potential it could.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I can only say thank you to current leadership, again, director and senior director are the only ones I can vouch for, but thank you for making this a place where people want to be, for taking the time to lead and mentor, and for standing up and supporting your team, your people, which in turn makes them want to work and fight hard for you, the team, and Seagate.

I have been working at Seagate Technology

    Pros

    - Seagate provides a competitive hourly pay compared to other tech companies.
    - Everyone is extremely nice
    - The work is not exhausting or boring. You learn a lot about your field of study while in a workplace setting.
    - Depending on the location, there are a lot of fun events and activities sponsored by Seagate like ping pong tournaments, ice cream socials, and company parties.

    Cons

8 hours a day in a cubicle. At least there are some breaks though.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I was not there long enough to notice anything that could need improvement.

I have been working at Seagate Technology full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Not a high stress environment, Seagate Way is a good idea

    Cons

Upper management does not embrace the Seagate Way. Each year another benefit is taken away (Stock options, RSUs, earned vacation time, PPO). Is upper management trying to tell us something?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring back RSUs and earned vacation time based on longevity if you value your employees.
