ConsCompany still has technology from 20 years ago that needs to be updated but company does nothing.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake the opportunity to ensure that all employees are fully trained

Short on staff, negative environment, no team work

Senior Office Coordinator (Former Employee) Batavia, IL

    ProsPay and benefits were good.

ConsWorking hours were long. Director didn't know the business (all director knew was numbers). One of the supervisors would throw people under the bus to make themselves look good. Because of the one supervisor the whole work environment was negative, it was not a team environment. It was hard to take pride in the product because there were constant customer complaints about the quality.

Advice to Senior ManagementMake sure everyone is treated equally. Don't give preference to one person. Everyone there worked hard but were never recognized. Need a Human Resource department that respects the employee's opinions and will recognize the employee's (non-supervisor) concerns.

    Foundation Capper

Foundation Capper (Former Employee) High Point, NC

ProsPays pretty good, employees are really hard workers

ConsQuantity is more important than quality, constantly push and push for more no matter what pain it causes, every week a chiropractor comes in because of so many physical pain issues, higher up management need to take a few classes on how to treat people.

Advice to Senior ManagementChange out management or make them take classes on how to treat people like human beings not animals, try being the best in quality and not just quantity!

One of the best companies I have worked for.

Team Leader Consumer Services (Former Employee) Trinity, NC

ProsFair salary, great benefits with lots of opportunities to promote from within. They assist with continued education which is great because you really need a bachelors degree to get anywhere within the company. They also offer adoption assistance. Wonderful opportunities to purchase beds.

ConsToo many chiefs and not enough Indians. A lot of micro-management which can be frustrating. Sealy was a much better company to work for before they went public.

    IT

IT Specialist (Former Employee) Archdale, NC

ProsNice people to work with, great benefits on mattress discounts

ConsLack of funding for needed training to keep current with IT Technologies

Advice to Senior ManagementSpend a little more time knowing what IT is doing. Focus on the outcome of projects and determine in advance the cost/benefit of projects. Support employee training, training is less expensive than trying to learn a new system without training and reduces errors.

ConsRelocation after you've maxed out your territory

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't just get rid of the high salaried employs that made the company be where its at today to replace with college grads.
