I have been working at Sears

    Pros

Company offers strong work-life balance and a great culture. Also strong opportunity for advancement as there are many avenues to drive your career.

    Cons

Company performance and media can be a drag at times. There is bonus opportunity however targets can be difficult to hit, so bonus was seldom earned in recent years. Lack of certain benefits, such as 401k match, makes it less compelling to stay with the company long-term

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to bring back the 401k match or vesting program to entice people to stay with the company longer.

I have been working at Sears

    Pros

Sales associates are constantly recognized to meeting and/or exceeding expectations. Also, it's great work experience. And you get a chance to learn a lot about merchandise.

    Cons

The store owners of locally owned stores are paid a commission from corporate, which is then split with sales associates (at most stores). The commission structure is terrible compared to corporate stores.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus more on profitable solutions for the store.
