    Call Center Dreadful

    ProsI worked in a Sears Call Center. The pay was great and they had quite a few opportunities for overtime.

    ConsGuaranteed "full time" in the interview/training, but it turned out to only be 32 hours. Had to pick up extra hours to just get full time. Dreadful atmosphere and environment. Everyone is out for themselves.

    Advice to Senior ManagementLook at what is feasible and do-able, not what you want to get done.

    ProsThe Co-workers and good pay

    Consin class training doesn't adequately prepare you for the more complex situations you come across when you get into nesting and after your "certified" more focus needs to be put on training for these things so people know more of what to do.

    Advice to Senior Managementspend less time having people come into the classroom and talk to us about how they like the job and the position they work. csi- p & ps doesn't give you all the answers and hunting for them in that system, especially when aht is so important is not ideal. having delivery and installation as one area is too much on the advisor, there's like 30 different things that can happen within the delivery area and 30 different things that can happen in the installation area. when it comes to the phone contact list a description of what each area does would help out a lot in misdirects, customers don't like being transferred 3 different times because the advisor before you didn't transfer them to the right department. In nesting there should be a rundown of the most common situations you will encounter and where to go and what to do, so that notes will be on hand when you do come across these situations.

    ConsEvery body is a middle manager, except you. 3 pay raises in 8 years. Bonus goals so far out is unreachable.

    ProsIt's part-time 32 hours you can work another job and work this one.

    ConsCustomers always complaining, management either doesn't care or writes you up for something silly.

    Advice to Senior ManagementTo start caring for employees and once you do that the turn-over rate will lower. Offer 40 hours instead of paying for building improvements.
