I worked at Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

It is a large company with room for growth, supports profesional development from within, has decent days off benefits, and the staff are really dedicated to patients and most of the time there is good comraderie amongst teams.

    Cons

The charting system could use improvement. There are bad vibes from the upper management and team directors sometimes. Perhaps it's the stress? But it can become toxic. The turn over rate is extremely high likely due to the amount of work and pressure put on staff. In some areas, there is a poor work-life balance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Realize that if there is a turnover rate so high, that it is not the employees, it is the job. Also be aware of the people you place in management. Most are good but there are some who lack integrity.

I worked at Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

I was an intern and learned a lot about Hospice from this company. Everyone I worked with was very kind and knowledgeable of their jobs and willing to share their knowledge. Helpful and very professional.

    Cons

I wish that I could have stayed, however, every time I apply for a job I am turned down for someone who has more experience.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give Interns a chance to learn and grow within the company, we may just surprise you at how fast we learn. If someone doesn't give us a chance to gain experience then we will never have experience.

    Pros

    Great pay and great benefits.

    Cons

Leadership is horrible, the Executive Director of the Rancho Cucamonga office is literally crazy and has no leadership skills. Top level leadership lacks leadership skills needed to run an effectively functioning organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Hire effective leaders.

I have been working at Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Deeply committed co-workers, fair salaries, generous PTO

    Cons

National leadership does not value work-life balance at the employee level, slow, cumbersome computer systems that are constantly down or working at subpar speed, payroll mistakes are common

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When turnover is high, take notice. Even committed professionals and hard working people have a limit. Oh if you want people to support corporate vision, mission and values--SUPPORT THEM--don't just pay lip service. It's a no-brainer.
