    Pros

People are great they give you the help you need
Benefits are awesome cant beat them

    Cons

Processes inside the company suck they keep changing titles and moving people around so people have no idea who is who on a day to day basis. Communication between the teams suck which makes it impossible to get anything done. Project managers and client managers are the weakest link in the company, even sales will sell you stuff that is impossible to deliver.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep your team informed on issues that greatly effect your team. Sure up the processes and make sure everyone is on the same page so processes dont get broken.

I have been working at Secure-24

    Pros

Benefits are super awesome and are 100% covered.
The culture and people are amazing..
Opportunities to learn about new technologies are unlimited.
    Open door policy
The Sky is the limit in regards of personal and professional growth.
Academy Model that was established on the IOC provides great opportunities for every new hire who started as an entry level. Employees do not feel that they have reached their ceiling in their career as they are constantly being motivated and encouraged to learn new things and are being promoted to other teams in less than a couple of years.
Work life balance has improved tremendously and has been driven by the C level management

    Cons

No major cons out of ordinary as most of them are directly linked to the growing pains that each company goes through

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing what you have been doing and stay employee focused.

I have been working at Secure-24 full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

At one time, this company had great potential, but that all changed once they were bought.

    - If you are young in your career, you get the ability to touch a lot of new technologies.
    - There is opportunity for training.
    - Health benefits are very good.
    - For the most part, the company is quite flexible.

    Cons

I'd like to start off by saying that it is VERY obvious that most of the extremely positive reviews on this site are 100% written by senior management or so called "lifers" at Secure-24. Their blinded vision and continuous denial of problems are exactly what's wrong with the company.

    - Management and Leadership are very poor.
    - Empty promises are common here. It seems management has become very efficient at keeping unhappy employees from leaving by promising them promotions and future plans. Unfortunately for the employees, 99.9% of these plans never happen.
    - Quality of life is very poor. There is an unwritten expectation that you must be available to work 24/7/365.
    - Immature and dramatic environment. Facebook and rumor mills run this office. If you become an employee, do yourself a HUGE favor and don't add anyone to your social accounts. The only downfall of not adding everyone is that you'll be branded unsocial for the duration of your career.
    - Lack of work ethic and skill leads to promotions at this company. If you're useless in one department, you'll be promoted to a Team Lead or Manager in another or better still, they'll create a position for you that holds no value and makes no sense.
    - The men in this office spend more time trying to score with the female employees rather than focusing on "actual" work.
    - The ego of the sale team and upper management is almost pathetic.
    - If you are a "golden boy" or an "attractive female” you are automatically exempt from all disciplinary actions and pretty much can get away with whatever you'd like.
    - The overall attitude of people in this office is very poor. Most people are miserable and never seem to want to help each other. The tone of some emails is very unprofessional and would not be tolerated in an enterprise level organization.
    - It's all about "I" and not about "We". Employees here excel at taking credit for others' work.
    - This company seems to focus on quantity and not quality in their hiring process.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Try paying attention to your so called "valued" employees and their wellbeing.
    - Instead of having a company outing that involves drinking and venting about the company, try solving the issues and cut the dead weight. The following day, the problems STILL exist.
    - HR is a joke in most cases. Hold people accountable for their actions, both professionally and personally in the workplace. Enough with the inadequate slaps on the wrists and putting people on a "PIP". These actions solve nothing. Employees are quite aware who the pushovers are in the office and they take advantage of it daily.
    - Out with the old, in with the new. There are so many grandfathered employees here that provide no value. Bring in quality resources.
    - How about a competitive pay scale? There are part time jobs out there that pay more than what IOC workers are getting paid.
    - Actually "listen" to the feedback!
    - Pay very close attention to the local job market. Secure-24 can no longer get by on providing less than adequate salaries for their employees.

I have been working at Secure-24 (more than a year)

    Pros

    *The people I work with.
*The benefits (100% paid, including dependents).
    *Free Tigers games.
    *Focus on fitness and health.
    *Enthusiastic management.
*Theoretically unlimited time off (within reason, with manager's approval).
*Plenty of nerds to chat with about nerd things.
*Solid leadership in the CEO and CFO. Down to earth guys that will readily take time out of their day for you.

    Cons

*People in other departments can be extremely unhelpful and downright rude at times, as if they are above you because they support a specific technology.
*No longer provide catered breakfasts every other week.
*Management can be overly enthusiastic on most occasions. Only a few seem truly genuine (the CFO and CEO being the few).
*Usually people that try to leave are made a better deal to stay. The company would do better to let them go, and find more qualified talent elsewhere. This isn't the small company the founders started 14 years ago, it needs more experienced talent if growth is in the future.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are companies in this area that provide better culture, and better perks (with better salaries to boot). Benefits can't be the only crutch you lean on to keep people around.

I have been working at Secure-24 full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

*Employee camaraderie (though as the company has grown, this camaraderie has become increasingly team-insular)
*Healthcare benefits (much to upper management's credit, they have found ways to continue affording our rich healthcare plan without introducing payroll deductions)
*Ability to gain experience in many areas (top-performing helpdesk employees are often, with 1-2 yrs experience, promoted to junior engineers for technologies they're interested in learning, and team transfers are common)
    *Company events

    Cons

*Management incompetence in a handful of areas (some teams/departments just do not have capable leaders, period)
    *Workload
*Some positions either lack a defined career path, or define it based on a bunch of certifications (the ability to pass an exam says little to me)
*Company is actually run by a secretive investor group (who are these people and what are their actual intentions for S24?)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop slanting promotion decisions heavily towards seniority/good ol' boys club politics, and seriously consider leadership skills/ability to do the job

Pamlico board members - take just a small amount of time to introduce yourselves and your vision for Secure-24, instead of remaining in the background and removing all doubt that this is just a long-term plan to sell the company to the highest bidder.

    Pros

    - Executive team is passionate about growing and competing in the industry
    - The majority of my peers have conviction and will go the extra mile to give everything they have to their team members to succeed and achieve their goals
    - Love the benefits for my family, the fun events we have in and outside of work

    Cons

    - Mission statement needs some love
    - Leadership 101, create consistent management expectations across all teams

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
