    Pros

If you have security experience and looking for a job Securitas is a good place to start or if your an retired police officer this is the great job for you if you already have benefits. As a retired (veteran) military police officer --- who is a mother of three -- this was a good fit for me. I presenting what shift I would like to work and management worked with me.

    Cons

Waiting for the idea job site and pay that fits your particular situation.

    Advice to Management

For me thanks to my local management they looked over my skills and place me at good job sites --- came for a part time job and wound up receiving a full time position at a premier job site.

I have been working at Securitas Security Services USA full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Mostly great coworkers. Seems to be better than most security companies. Decent starting wage (lacking pay increases though). Can be busy or casual depending on the site. Good for employees who are going to school due to flexible hours.

    Cons

Low pay. My current site has extremely high expectations (we are everything from receptionists, to first-aid specialists, to locksmiths, to security guards—and most are paid $10/hr.). Extremely high turnover; most officers last about two to four months (some as little as weeks or even days). Extreme micromanagement makes progression difficult—you get the impression that nobody cares how hard you work or how little you work. Hardly any sick days. No paid time off. Limited raises (I've received one 15 cent raise in four years—not including promotion). No paid vacation. You only get a bonus if you choose not to take a vacation.

    Advice to Management

Care about your employees, don't just pretend to care. Shallow rewards programs are not enough. You have to show that you value your employees. I have seen many good employees leave because of the low pay, the atmosphere, and the lack of room for growth. This is a huge corporation, people need to feel like they matter and that they can grow professionally.

    Pros

Some spare time to work on college homework or small projects, staff is friendly and help as much as they can.

    Cons

Not ok if you don't like being alone or afraid of big buildings.

    Advice to Management

Could have two officers on site, for better performance.
