    Pros

In the mid 2000's to early 2010's a young professional could get a lot of experience working for Select. Extremely low pay but a good way to gain experience and transition to a better company.

    Cons

Low pay, poor culture, top-down management, cost cutting lead to more and more cuts to employee benefits, no formal performance reviews.

    Pros

Great supervisor at my location, decent pay, ability to earn bonuses

    Cons

Long hours, no overtime pay, no matter the job market around you, you are expected to perform at the same level as the highest grossing markets. Minimal room for growth and lower-mid salary ranges...difficult to get raises, as raises are based on branch performance.

    Advice to Management

Truly understand the amount of work that each role does and realize that your expectations CANNOT be met in a 40 hour work week. If you want all roles to meet your expectations you need to offer more help to local branches (1 person CANNOT be an admin, payroll manager, recruiter and sales rep!), or start offering OT!

    Pros

I have only had one decent job working at select, but it ended fairly quickly. The ladies in the office are very rude and do not explain the jobs properly. One positive thing i can say is you will find a job quickly because of the high turnover rate.

    Cons

The ladies in the office are very rude over the phone, you will get put on hold multiple times with a different person asking you the same question every time. They lie about having/ not having jobs....do yourself a favor and try a different agency, SELECT cares nothing about you.

    Advice to Management

My advice would to be to tell your employees to actually ACT like you care about finding people jobs and not like you are just doing them a favor.

    Pros

Nice office in a good location. Restaurants and shops are a short walk away and easy to visit on a lunch break. Easy access to the 101 freeway. The management team was focused, dedicated and hard working.

    Cons

Low pay and lots of turnover. Many employees don't take initiative or go beyond their exact job duties.

    Advice to Management

Make the rank and file feel more invested in the success and future of the business. Many feel they are just replaceable cogs.

    Pros

You will learn a lot. I learned what it meant to work long hours and not get compensated for them. I also learned what accounting tricks were used to produce false financial statements.

    Cons

Since I left they have gone into restructuring bankruptcy.

    Advice to Management

    Get out.
