    I worked at Senior Helpers

    Pros

I really enjoyed doing the job. It was very fulfilling and made you feel good about yourself when you went home.

    Cons

There are not many opportunities for advancement unless you want to be a supervisor.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The management was cool. I didn't have any issues.

I have been working at Senior Helpers full-time for less than a year

    Pros

hands on with clients in need of physical and mental assistant needs. Working in the health care field, the abilities to grow and gain knowledgeable learning as CNA responsibilities, and duties. Patient care is number one priority in the ability to keep them in their own homes for as long as it is possible. The benefits are reasonable.

    Cons

The various working hours and fill in schedules you maybe called in to fill a position for the day your scheduled off. Some hours are extended and requires me to find last moment notice for baby sitters.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Over all they are a great and professional company to work for who cares about and devoted to making their clients needs top priority and providing them with necessary equipment and staffing to maintaint he needs for long-term care of the elder and disabled clients.

    Cons

Hi Management turnover; Underpaid and over-stressed - Cross-trained and able to wear many hats, yet only paid for one job. No advancement potential.

    Pros

You tell them when you can work.

    Cons

They try to get you to work when they want you to not when you can and they don't pay you for your experience.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to make the pay worth working there. Pay the employer for the experience they have and the gas for going out so many miles from where they live.

Varies wildly from franchise to franchise

    I worked at Senior Helpers

    Pros

Fulfilling part time job for caregivers, pays competitive wages, well organized regionally and nationally, decent marketing tools

    Cons

Individual franchises can be badly mismanaged, neighboring territories frequently badmouth one another, company lobbies to keep healthcare workers exempt from overtime, full time hours are as scarce as hen's teeth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Health care workers are not a disposable resource. Caregivers who don't feel respected will not treat their clients as well.
