I worked at Senior Helpers part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The only pro about this place is having a steady client, but be careful they double book people ALL the time.

    Cons

So disorganized! Was not given the full information on many things, lied to multiple times. Only 1 person to manage people schedule, was double booked, very rude and non professional. Did not care about caregivers being comfortable with the tasks at hand, and talk you into doing shifts that you already said no too.Wages are a joke, you can make so much more at any other company you go to, they do not have any ongoing education programs ( at least I was never informed of any). Caregivers are not told a lot of things from the office staff, you mostly learn about the company from other caregiver that have been there a while. Office staff is not helpful and will have you waiting to talk to them forever.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get more organized, and actually tell your employees ALL the information.

I worked at Senior Helpers part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Rewarding and a great way to learn from people who have lived their years-if you have a good/friendly client.
    No work to bring home.
    Flexible schedule.

    Cons

Would make us fill out Availability forms, but ignore the times I said I was not available and ask me to work. Getting two texts/emails daily asking me to work during my clearly marked unavailable times was super annoying.
    No room for advancement.
Very "Christiany" company, which makes us atheists uncomfortable...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please be more organized with scheduling.

I have been working at Senior Helpers as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Being able to care for someone else is rewarding.
Your never around the office unless dropping off your time sheets or picking up your money.
I have only been there for 2 1/2 months, their very helpful in the beginning making sure you know what you need to know. No perks.

    Cons

Most of the time you call them they never pick up the phone, when you leave a message they dont ever get back to you. They have an emergency line in case something happens to a client, they dont respond to that either.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more involved in your company and make sure your employees are doing their job properly.

    Pros

hands on with clients in need of physical and mental assistant needs. Working in the health care field, the abilities to grow and gain knowledgeable learning as CNA responsibilities, and duties. Patient care is number one priority in the ability to keep them in their own homes for as long as it is possible. The benefits are reasonable.

    Cons

The various working hours and fill in schedules you maybe called in to fill a position for the day your scheduled off. Some hours are extended and requires me to find last moment notice for baby sitters.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Over all they are a great and professional company to work for who cares about and devoted to making their clients needs top priority and providing them with necessary equipment and staffing to maintaint he needs for long-term care of the elder and disabled clients.
