I have been working at Senior Helpers part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great clients mostly, learned a lot in the process. Got a raise not long after being hired. Training was nice, very informative, friendly staff. emails are always put together well. They have a great website.

    Cons

Not very many clients at all,no training for any new positions within company. The shifts aren't very long either. The communication just isn't there at times,no promotions from with in.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Nice company but the workers need more clients.

    Pros

You tell them when you can work.

    Cons

They try to get you to work when they want you to not when you can and they don't pay you for your experience.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to make the pay worth working there. Pay the employer for the experience they have and the gas for going out so many miles from where they live.

Varies wildly from franchise to franchise

    I worked at Senior Helpers

    Pros

Fulfilling part time job for caregivers, pays competitive wages, well organized regionally and nationally, decent marketing tools

    Cons

Individual franchises can be badly mismanaged, neighboring territories frequently badmouth one another, company lobbies to keep healthcare workers exempt from overtime, full time hours are as scarce as hen's teeth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Health care workers are not a disposable resource. Caregivers who don't feel respected will not treat their clients as well.

    Pros

Flexible hours, they try to give you clients that are close to where you live, they have a 24 hour call center if you have to call about an emergency after hours. I love my clients and it has been the best experience to care for them.

    Cons

No room for job growth and most of the positions are part-time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would like to see some more training. I've done only one packet in six months.

I worked at Senior Helpers full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Large territory which helped with more customer acquisitions. Training was appropriate for the amount that we paid for the royalties. Corperate invested only when they were bought by private equity. I believe the money helped with acquiring new talent that helped the company.

    Cons

Not sure, I think that the brand and the vision of thier company is right on. I hope they have a bright future.

I have been working at Senior Helpers full-time

    Pros

While they take advantage of desperate people, if your desperate enough, anything is better then nothing.

    Cons

You have to be willing to leave your moral values at the door when working with this company. They are out for profit at any cost. Government fraud, lying, and taking advantage of the elderly is not beneath them. The only thing they care less about then the client is the employee. Denying pay for hours worked is a regular practice and there is no standard procedure for grievances except to quite. There is no HR.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get some organization and communication skills and stop lying to CEO to cover your shortcomings or you will spiral this business into bankruptcy.

I worked at Senior Helpers full-time

    Pros

Other coworkers, trainers, and patients are friendly and easy to interact with. The work was not monotonous and I found caring for the elderly who are suffering from dementia very rewarding.

    Cons

There was some concern by the ownership and management with the loss of an account due to compromised safety as the patient progressed in illness. There is potential to influence a family to keep a patient living at home when it safest that they receive care in a medically trained facility.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would recommend strict attention to documentation concerning medications, and patient information to ensure that the information is accurate and updated frequently.
