    Pros

I've been with the company for many years and never would have stayed if there weren't advancement opportunities or if the working environment wasn't professional and rewarding. This is a small company that has grown with its product as well as its leadership. If you are a dedicated worker and apply yourself you will be rewarded appropriately. The people who advance here are the ones who see issues and come up with solutions and work as a team or individually to resolve problems. They don't sit back and complain about everything and take no action. They also don't do the bare minimum or cut corners at every turn. The employees who advance, deserve to advance.

This company is conveniently located, has a beautiful corporate office, has matching 401K and other valuable benefits, has a niche in the market and is constantly adding value to it's product. There are many veteran employees and many new employees that make for a great mix of ideas and wisdom.

    Cons

With all small companies there have been a lot of 'growing pains'. Some very large projects were started and then cancelled. Although there were valid business reasons to change direction, I don't believe those reasons were adequately communicated to the employees and that caused unrest. I do believe that the company is headed in the right direction now and that communication has improved greatly in the last year.

    Advice to Management

Some department managers are wonderful at acknowledging their employees and recognizing the hard work that they do, but this is not company wide. Although many of the 'under performers' have been let go, there are still some employees that cause more problems than they provide value, this can be very difficult for the employees that work hard. So, please fairly evaluate your employees and don't be afraid to cut ties with an employee that isn't benefiting the company, the customers or their team.

    Pros

Senior Systems is a smaller (but growing) company with lots of hard-working employees. 2015 brings many exciting changes, including new benefits with great employee reimbursement programs, a working advantage that offers discounts on various things to employees, and matching 401k up to 3%. There is a good balance of veterans and rookies working here, so new ideas are always welcome and integrated with existing company values.

    Cons

Typical growing pains of a small company that is growing into a medium sized company. Yes, you work hard. However, you get out what you put in.

    Advice to Management

Remember to always make sure that your employees know that they are appreciated. Most managers are good about this, but it really does go a long way.

    Pros

there is no pros from ownership down the company is awful. I wish I never took this job

    Cons

I need more than 20 words for the cons management is awful, owner has god complex and they thinks they knows what is going on it's a joke

    Advice to Management

Show these so called policies you have company has no employee handbook nor do they have an HR dept
they think free bagels and donuts on Friday's make a good company. My advice is sell the business and give it to people that have a clue about business.
Recruiter Manager also acts like HR speaks to others about confidential information but tells you not to tell anyone else
State of Mass should look into this company very toxic and really is a negative on a resume

    Pros

Working on the new software is great. Using .NET 4 and 4.5 and modern JavaScript. Good location outside Boston and the heavy commute. Decent pay, though not outstanding. Good people to work with.

    Cons

Disorganized development process. Understaffed development team for over-promised and ambitious software development plan. Poor communication from development manager. Meager if any benefits - only what's required, legally. No match for 401k. No professional development and no sign from the owner that it's a problem. Poor and until recently, non-existent review process. Don't expect a raise - ever.

    Advice to Management

Treat your people better or pray the economy doesn't get better.

    Pros

There are a few very nice, very hard working employees. The customer base is great - most are very easy to deal with and very appreciative of any help they can get.

    Cons

"The fish rots from the head down" pretty much sums up this company, in my opinion. The biggest problems are at the top. The president doesn't want to hear about any problems, so nothing gets fixed. Promotion to Manager or Director seem to be based solely on tenure and not on any management ability or people skills. Only the Developers are seen as valuable, everyone else is treated as disposable. Absolutely no regard is given to the customer facing departments. There are a few poisonous employees - who have been there forever - that are extremely difficult to work with. Lastly, reviews are sporadic and raises (as rare as the White Buffalo) do not even cover the increase in cost of living.

    Advice to Management

It may be too late, but :
    - Hire someone from outside the company who actually understands how to plan, develop, release and support software; and let them run the operation.
    - Realize that sometimes you need to hear the bad news and then actually deal with it.
    - Make some hard choices and weed out the people sitting around watching YouTube videos 6 hours a day or are so poisonous that no one can work with them. (Because they are driving off your new hires,)
    - Get on a firm review cycle and give your employees decent raises.

Not professional, the owner is a dictator along with sales. Directors are afraid to truly state their opinions.

    Pros

Friendly colleagues, loose dress environment, bagels and donuts every Friday. Company does not use any professional management principals for managing projects. Company manuals are very outdated for client products.

    Cons

Directors have no professional experience in managing projects or staff. Do not understand management basics and how to manage projects and communicate with their staff.

    Advice to Management

Get professional training and or certification.

  8. Fair place to work. Management understand employee's needs.

    Pros

The company is stable with a good set of customers.
The workload is reasonable, not too much pressure from the management.
    People are friendly and supportive.

    Cons

Except for the development team, there is not much growth in the job. Every day people are doing the same thing over and over.

    Advice to Management

I have no advice for the management group.
