    Pros

Good pay, nice work environment, good benefits

    Cons

They keep headcounts as low as possible so everyone is overwhelmed and overworked, management is clueless, poor hiring choices, constant internal role shifts and tiny bonuses

I have been working at Sensata

    Pros

Good salaries for the younger employees

    Cons

Benefits keep decreasing. Human Resources is a complete joke. You do it all yourself or nothing gets done. Ask HR a question? they send you to a web page. Not an engineer part of a high visibility team? No recognition ever.
The company is so prout to be building new manufacturing facilities in Bulgaria and India...shouldn't they be proud of building one in the USA?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Wake up and find a way to bring jobs to the USA. What will you do if China changes the rules?

    Pros

Fast paced, lots of opportunity to learn. Always something going on. Good people and a few good managers.

    Cons

Most of the time the smart and hardest working people get pigeon holed and eventually quit, while those with less talent wait for roles to open up and get promoted into them, and then push work they don't understand down. The good managers always leave.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Slow down. Oracle is a disaster. The company is understaffed. And you will break it.

I have been working at Sensata full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Global Operations provides excellent experience and travel opportunities around the world. Hard working and intelligent workforce especially at the individual contributor level.

    Cons

Inexperience at many levels of management creates inconsistency in the execution of work and also contributes to high turnover which leads to constant change in management positions. Long hours/High Stress enviroment is not sustainable for everyone. Many of the managers due not have the people skills necessary which contributes to turnover and change in personnel. There is a need for clearly defined processes and procedures.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on improving the retention rate and spend some cash to acquire/train managers in the non technical aspects of management.

    Pros

There is a good benefits package here. The environment is clean and upbeat almost college dormitory style.

    Cons

Slow or non existent advancement opportunities for technicians. Promotions and opportunities reserved for engineers. Lacks the mentality for true R+D development. Does not utilize experience properly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Perhaps looking down through the glass ceiling would net the company greater opportunities. Discouraging innovation is counter productive.

    I worked at Sensata full-time

    Pros

Industry leader, great business model with enviable attributes, really talented people, friendly collaborative culture below the C-level.

    Cons

Transition to private equity ownership and the phenomenally skewed incentives for senior management that are part of that process have driven leadership to make many decisions that maximized short-term value over long-term gain. As a result, the company mainly fights fires and figures out way to hide problems rather than driving forward in a healthy, positive fashion. CEO is very smart and talented in many ways, but is a very poor leader of people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Wouldn't necessarily recommend against working here, but do so with your eyes open.

I worked at Sensata full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Employee development focused, great company for entry level and experienced professionals. One of the few great companies left that believes in training and mentoring young college grads and pulling the top performers into management or technically advanced roles. Compensation is fair. Flex time is amazing and allows for excellent work life balance. You can work at this company and still see your family or have children. This company is women and minority friendly, not your typical good ol' boys club. This diverse environment results in cross functional cooperation and overall a great atmosphere. If you enjoy working with smart people this company gets top talent.

    Cons

Employment can be slightly unstable as the company rises and falls (mostly) with the auto industry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Top management team could do a better job communicating vision and goals with the rest of the workforce. Certainly not an easy thing to do in a large company.

    Pros

    -Competitive Salary
    -Good Benefits
    -Flexible Schedule
    -Friendly coworkers

    Cons

    -Boring work
-Under-utilization of engineering talent as an electrical engineer
    -VERY OLD equipment
-The interview was relatively hard yet the work is extremely trivial

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Actually try to develop new technologies not just capatilize on profit margins.
There's a reason that there's a retention problem, especially with electrical engineers
