    Pros

Sentinel is a company that affords employees a great deal of opportunity such as financial and career advancement as well as work/life balance. Sentinel is also a company that stands behind its work and strives to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.

    Cons

Every organization has cons, but if you have a positive attitude you will see that there are definitely more pros than cons.

    Advice to Management

Continue to grow the company and excel in the areas the company has been successful in and the areas that have been the most beneficial to the Customer.

I have been working at Sentinel Technologies full-time

    Pros

Lots of opportunity to learn Cross-training so you have a work-life balance Opportunity to network and grow Opportunity to move within the company Support from managers Not a lot of micro management

    Cons

you'll have people you like and dislike anywhere you go! some people here can be quite negative but if you stay positive and work hard you can really enjoy your career here.

    Advice to Management

revamp your training process - some departments are more successful with training than others but in general it could be stronger!

I worked at Sentinel Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great hands on expierence and great exposure to large projects. If you're just starting out in the Network industry this is a great place to grow.

    Cons

There is a lot of favoritism within the organization. Not to mention the old boys club that has been mentioned before. If you're part of the club you'll get the raises and perks. If you're not, they will run you into the ground without any reviews or performance increases. Projects are not managed well and lots of disorganization. Its embarrassing to be on customer calls when something has been oversold or sold incorrectly. This seems to happen way to often, I'm surprised they're still in business. A lot of this has to do with management being to cheap or willing to fix problems.

    Advice to Management

Stop the politics and starting grading everyone based on merit. Fix the problems at hand. No one in management appears to be able to make a decision. If you don't learn to adapt, you'll be stuck in 1999, which sometime feels like you already are.

I worked at Sentinel Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Large company with good benefits - strength in numbers.

    Cons

Due to being large company they segment employees into distinctive specific tasks/jobs - so if you want to do a variety of projects or work on a range of your skills this might not be a fit for you. Had to change departments to expand my skill set and I forced the move myself

    Advice to Management

Understand the requirement for management to have the departments divided into tasked based - but somehow encouraging growth and maybe cross training might help employees more.

    Pros

Working for Sentinel allows you an opportunity to work with the latest technologies. Good health benefits, paid time off and competitive salary.

    Cons

The structure of the company is so that very often you work on specific equipment. This can be great in that you become very good at working on a specific product however, it can be a double edge sword as your skill set will become less versital.
