I worked at Sephora part-time for less than a year
Pros – Great benefits for part time and full time employees, flexible shifts
Cons – Old technology at the cash register, hot polyester uniform, make up required for dress code, management tends to have favoritism, training needs to be available for all employees not just per department
Advice to Senior Management – Try to listen to employee feedback more
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

I worked at Sephora full-time for more than a year
Pros – Free products and trainings
Flexible with requests offs
Cons – Raises are horrible even if you move up in position
The hours vary and depend on the business making money
Management in my location was never on the same page
Too much gossiping and management played favorites with employees who did not perform
Advice to Senior Management – Help clients more instead of constantly watching the employees, it can be very discouraging when management preaches about the customer service but is quick to pass clients who approach them to the already busy associates.

I worked at Sephora full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Great work environment!
Wonderful training on the company & the products carried there both when you are first hired and throughout.
You get to sample many of the product lines!
Great match on 401k if you do it
Many opportunities to grow within the company
I think the company takes good care of both their employees and guests for the most part.
Cons – Talents that work on the floor could be paid more
Sometimes it may be hard to keep up morale in spite of some of the type of customers that would come in. (I think this largely depends on the location of the Sephora. The two that I worked at 1 had some more demanding customers because of the area in my belief that is where the "it's all about attitude..." part of my title of this review comes from)
More service to the community maybe with projects or short programs for the area- I mean even something like informing folks on the importance of protecting your skin from the sun or hydrating, etc. For such a huge company there is a great chance to educate and reach out and just do something nice for the community. So a company that is not just concerned about numbers and looking good but bettering the world it is thriving in.
Advice to Senior Management – Store Management keep up the good job of listening to your employees and trying to help them in any way you can!!!
Nat'l HQ- improve pay for those that work on the floor (especially for those that don't want to move out of that type of work- the interaction with the guests- just for higher pay to be the exec of something or get an office) because with all the wonderful benefits of this company, improving the pay would only make Sephora stand out even more as possibly one of the best places to work. And you would have your pick of top notch talent to join your team!
Hell I would even consider coming back- :)
And also reaching out to the immediate community of some of the stores it would put more of a 'heart & soul' on such a large company and you would still be doing what you do so well "Beautifying the World!"

I have been working at Sephora part-time for more than a year
Pros – Gratis, gratis, gratis! It is great to be part of a growing company.
Cons – The return policy is constantly abused by clients that feel entitled to luxury items that some cannot afford. This causes them to be abusive to the staff when they do not get their way, even though they keep turning over the same purchase over and over.
Advice to Senior Management – Promote from within. Hiring externally can create more instability than it is worth.

I have been working at Sephora full-time for more than a year
Pros – Great Product exposure to learn all different types of cosmetic and skincare lines. Generous with gratis. The company Values are good and it was overall a fun environment to work in.
Cons – Unqualified managers or leads that are not specifically from the beauty industry, unprofessional unqualified staff, no guarantee on hours so flex hours and short breaks.
Advice to Senior Management – Hire managers, leads, and experts that actually know about the beauty, fragrance, and cosmetic business It was hard to have respect and be subordinate to leaders that really had no understanding of the business.

I worked at Sephora full-time for more than a year
Pros – I had made a wonderful group of co worker friends, i have done a ton of growing in the industry and enjoyed the training and product perks.
Cons – Management team is suffocating and demeaning. They treat you as if you are beneath them as a human being. Your rights and your dignity do not matter. Myself and so many others around me felt anxiety and stress on a daily basis there. There have been numerous counts of unfairness in treatment among the employees due to favoritism which seems to be unfortunately from a racist perspective. I have been bullied and shot down enough times that all i can do is find some form of justice so that it does not have to keep happening to others in the future. The concept of "cleaning house" through misery is just sick to me and without getting to know the hard working individuals that spend so much of their lives there. Its really about who you know and whos pet you are at this place. I wish my experience here could have been something to rave about..and it could have very well been but instead im happy to be free.
Advice to Senior Management – The management should try a more human approach to their position. Power tripping and stepping on others wont make anyone care an ounce about reaching a sales goal to get your paycheck to bonus. Have some respect. and class.
