    Pros

    the eduation and gratis at sephora is great! paid time off is good too. the training and brands are great.

    Cons

    company can be shady. at the end of the day its still retail. you can break your neck for the company, and they wont value that. Pay could be better. I worked at a B volume store and got paid more than i do at an A volume that makes way more money. sad

    Advice to Management

    Stop with favoritism. Stop brining personal problems to work. Sephora is all about not using their roles as manager to be on you, or use it against you to seem superior, but they do.

    Pros

    The pros are the amazing people I work with and the extensive training you receive. It doesn't feel like a job when you get to do something you love.

    Cons

    Only Cons I have would be the amount of time it took to finally be hired in the system and the anticipation of waiting and wondering if everything is going to work out.

    Pros

    Sephora is an excellent company to work for if you're just getting into the makeup/skincare world. You get to learn about a vast array of brands and you get a lot of hands-on experience. You also get a ton of gratis so you get to play with a lot of the newest products by some of the best luxury brands in the industry. My team was super upbeat and fun, and i appreciated how my managers emphasized work/life balance and having fun doing your job.

    Cons

    The only downside is that as much as the company encourages growth and improvement, its actually significantly challenging to move up in the ranks if you're looking to expand and get a better income.

    Pros

    The management of the store I worked at was the best part about working at Sephora. They were really caring for the employees and wanted us to learn and the culture created at work was grounded with respect for everybody, regardless of whether or not it's clients or co-workers. Creating that type of positive culture at work was really helpful in carrying that forward to the clients.

    Cons

    Training at first was difficult. Even though we are given great resources like training videos, it was hard at first to be thrown on the floor to talk to clients without having much product knowledge.

    Advice to Management

    Maybe establish training manuals for basic knowledge of the products. It's helpful to start out the job knowing a little bit about at least one of the sections (skincare, color, fragrance, etc.)

    Fun at times. Free products.

    Overwhelming with management feeling that you must constantly be hustling around every possible second. Coworkers get promoted to "leadership" positions and then stand around with a clipboard ordering you to help clients with specific things that they could have done in the same time it took to find someone, wait for them to finish what they're doing , then explain what the customer needs to them.

    Pros

    The training is phenomenal. Your team works together, not on commission base. This is what is ultimately best for the client. This is an un-biased place of business so the clients can trust we want the best for them. Insurance for even part time. Gratis is a huge incentive.

    Cons

    Retail hours = nights, weekends and holiday black out periods.

    Advice to Management

    Work-life Balance is a serious focus for Sephora. Help make it live in your place of business. It is what saves you from "burnout" and turn over rate.
