    Pros

    Gratis cosmetics, skincare, and haircare are a wonderful perk and a great way to familiarize yourself with products. It's fun to get to play with all of the high end products.

    Cons

    It is impossible to advance in this company. They are also strict about employees not socializing outside of work. The crazy customers will make you want to gouge your eyes out during their endless quest for dinner lipstick color that hasn't been made in 20 years.

    Pros

    If you love cosmetics it's a good opportunity to familiarize yourself with all the brands and keep current on new products that are coming out. Employees are allowed to sample anything in the store (hygienically, from the testers of course), and are encouraged to wear in-store products, before going out on the sales floor. Occasional freebies and frequent visits from product representatives. Most of the customers I encountered were very friendly, and loved receiving all the various free samples that we offered along with their transaction.

    Cons

    Disorganized and hostile management. Lack of training and an expected "figure it out on your own time" mentality, coupled with extreme dissatisfaction and verbal chastisement in the event that you did not in fact "figure it out". Lack of communication between on-duty managers often resulting in a very confusing floor experience. Attitude between staff members was very competitive, people were always gossiping about each other and seemed ready to throw others under the bus.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Communication, plain and simple. Discouraging a hostile attitude between employees. Using positive reinforcement to encourage the employees to perform their duties in the way that is required of them.
