    Pros

You can make good money if you can last that long.

    Cons

Septa overall does not care about or backup their employees. Safety for bus, trolley and rail operators is non existent. Assaults against operators are daily occurrences. Physical threats, verbal threats, assaults, foul language and just plain ignorant passengers make most days miserable. No home or family life. High turnover. Job security sucks.

    Advice to Management

Employees are what makes Septa tick. Have more respect for your employees and they will respect you.

    Pros

Decent pay, benefits, ability to move within the company.

    Cons

No chance to rise to the top or above a certain level through hard, loyal work if you do not have the right genes. Have actually been told that "they just have some numbers to fill" when not getting a promotion, not that they hired the best person for the job. Interviews are subjective at best and alot of times performed by unqualified employees with a stock set of questions. Symantics.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring family\friends and promote dedicated, loyal, hard workers that know the business . Simply put, hire the right people for the job who have earned it and can actually step in seamlessly without needing to be trained by the folks that have been doing the job for years. Stop handing out top level executive positions as patronage jobs to people that have no idea how a transit agency operate a transit agency, then have to cover for their inefficiencies.

Exciting on most days due to the mask amount of new people you meet in the public.

    Pros

The experience you get meeting new people. The salary and flexibility of working extra hours or taking time off away from work. The options to pick different work locations that is suitable to your home location for easier commute.

    Cons

The constant fatigue you face by the fast pace environment. Unable to actually make decisions for yourself as needed for the customers. At any moment you can be guilty until proven innocent

    Advice to Management

It would help if most management personnel learn most aspects og the job instead of using their current position as a bully tactic.

    Pros

Great pay. Some-what of a family atmosphere, but everyones out for themselves money can change people. They pay becomes a drug just like any other drug so its a matter of do you want to be a robot for them and get paid well or find a good company like Federal Express who cares about its people.

    Cons

Your just a number to " The Authority " your way even if better is not their way and thus why passengers hate them not just their employees.

    Advice to Management

Flush the toilet and clean the system that has been in place for over 30 years. Hire former Veterans who have actual Transportation Experience not family and friends the way its been for 30 plus years.

    Cons

They only promote people who "play ball", anyone with ambition and a genuine work ethic will be beaten down and turned into a mindless employee. Insane amounts of waste.

Fire everyone in A payroll and start over
