I have been working at Serco Group

    Pros

The company is undergoing significant change and there is a greater emphasis in achieving excellent standards of care.
there is good access to training and development opportunities but is very much up to the individual to develop his/her own role.

    Cons

    It needs more structure.
The company is still in development and needs to invest more in its people through formal channels.

    Pros

There are lots of opportunities if you have a good network and the recent leadership change has made a difference.

    Cons

Very silo-ed and very it is very risk adverse. compensation is fair for the roles if you come in externally.

    I worked at Serco Group

    Pros

    1. Generally good team mates to work with.

    2. Resonable work load.

    3. Low level management generally approachable.

    Cons

    1. Poor level of pay.

    2. Training short, sloppy and always out dated.

3, Antique computer systems and an over reliance on untested computer programs.

    4. Zero interest in management progression.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat staff like assets, not undeed expenditure. Have managers who are actually trained for the role- not people who move around because they are unable to hit targets in other departments.

I have been working at Serco Group as a contractor

    Pros

A good place to work. You are employed based on your ability to do the job

    Cons

The company can be more involved in the career development of staff

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Serco Group full-time

    Pros

Interesting range of options and business areas

    Cons

Very heavy emphasis on costs, always trying to drive down expenses. Some significant failures due to under-funding. Focused on government contracts leading to problems when they inherited a lot of staff with a flexible attitude to reporting. Promising anything to win a bid leads to massive rework later on.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Actually pay attention to Black Hat reviews instead of pre-judging them. Talk to experts instead of project managers.

I have been working at Serco Group full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I can say with my hand on my heart I have never had a positive word to say about this organisation.

    Cons

Treatment of staff is appalling. If they can find another mug to do it cheaper you are out. Senior management are totally clueless, if you have no morals you may succeed, but only if you brown-nose the right people. Experience and ability are alien concepts. You are a number to be dispensed with as and when convenient. I have never written a review before, but I have never worked for such a company before. If you think it may be different for you - good luck, but I genuinely say AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
