I worked at Servisair for less than a year

    Pros

the task of the job are easy and fun

    Cons

Management sucks especially the people chosen for the management role. Pay is very inadequate for the task to perform. You are not valued as an employee management only pretends to care. There is no integrity. Management condones negative behavior. They didn't give the raise or flight benefits as promised. Schedule is bad with split shifts with getting off sometimes at 3:00 am and then have to be back in the morning. It was so bad sometimes that employees would sleep at work because they knew they would have to be there again in the morning.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I don't think it would be so hard to give employees a pay rate they could actually live on and one that would help with the gas that it takes to go back and forth to work for split shifts. Employees need a pay incentive to get off work in the middle of the night and then go back to work in the morning. Servisair is not concerned with valuing its employees at all they only want contracts. Working doesn't have to be so miserable especially for a company that makes millions of dollars.

I have been working at Servisair

    Pros

ok about trading days off and taking days off. easy work. Most of the workers are good to work with. Relaxed atmosphere, management are very nice people, uniforms are provided.

    Cons

No benefits, pay is low. Flight benefits only for certain jobs. Very little communication from leads, management. They talk with you a lot but seldom tell you what is going on.

I have been working at Servisair full-time for more than a year

    Pros

It is a fun, fast paced place to work. The people are lovely and no two days are the same. Uniform is provided and there is never a shortage of breaks,

    Cons

There is no variation in how shifts are given to people. People could be on the early shifts 5 out of their 6 working days and this could go on for months at a time. It is near impossible to have holidays approved or time off despite a growing work force. Little guidance from management or assistance with problems with a flight and no benefits and a low pay for the amount of responsibility you have.

I worked at Servisair full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The good things are the roster, when you get established as a dispatcher you can be put on a 4 on 4 off pattern which is only working half of the year, also take 4 days holiday from your 35 allocation and you get 8 days off - DOUBLE your time.
In the summer and busy months you can write your own pay cheque with overtime - which is plentiful March-September and drys completely throughout winter.

    Cons

The biggest challenge is working with the top heavy management. Holidays that never get approved and an ever ending increasing management table and ever shrinking workforce on the ground. Too many cheifs and never enough indians on the shop floor.

    Pros

    a really friendly team
    good training
    id love to go back

    Cons

    sacking people wrongfully without worning

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

make sure that your branch managers know the right was to deal with staff and dont sack people for daring to question them. Other then that i loved working for your company and was devastated to be let go, it was my fav job to date and wish i could go back to it

I have been working at Servisair part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Lots of great guys and fun, health benefits, free parking,

    Cons

Management treats you like you're not very smart, do not follow CBA that is in place, manipulative, always looking to fire somebody, power hungry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Drop your EGO at the door and treat people with respect and better communication, hire better trainers, look after your customers and employees better and the dollars will come. Screen supervisors better.

I have been working at Servisair full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Location is ideal for me, not too close to Manchester so it eases time spent travelling

    Cons

Recently purchased by Swissport - who have turned out to be very awkward to work with. It's either their way or no way. That's fine - if their way works, which it often doesn't. This means delays while they work out our way worked better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Swissport, who make losses each year, bought Servsair, who make a profit. Maybe you could do with following the Servisair model (that makes money and has high customer/staff satisfaction) rather than the outdated Swissport model (that makes huge losses with low customer/staff satisfaction). In an ideal world, Servisair should sell the loss making side of the business, Swissport!!

I worked at Servisair full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You have to start somewhere, the bottom of the cesspit is the best place to gain the best perspective. You get all the dog end jobs and if you survive that in a relatively short time, you might get lucky and reach an employer who will look after you.

    Cons

This company does not look after it's staff. as long as the airline pays their wages you are just a number. you as an employee are replaceable, your opinion counts for nothing. the passenger has to abide by the contract and you have to enforce it. you wont get thanked. you are the pawn in a wider game. you will resent yourself.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leave. move to a ground handling agent that will respect you and look after your staff. a happy employee is a productive employee. a productive employee is successful at handling disgruntled passengers and minimizes turn arounds.
