    Pros

Supportive of high performers and very community minded. Definitely want to always do the right thing.

    Cons

Slow to change and a very traditional mindset in regards to new ways of doing things.

    Advice to Management

I think looking at middle management and determining how to realign their values to those of the organization would be a good first step in improving working conditions.

    Pros

Work live balance Nice colleagues Nice office building Compensation OK A lot of potential

    Cons

Lack of leadership Lack of professional development, training and motivations for employees Too much politics Not really living the values the company wants to stand for Lack of maturity

    Advice to Management

Making tough decision and put "real" leaders in position where required most

    Pros

In all fairness, training was provided well. 2 weeks was spent on how to operate their system, 2 weeks spent in branch shadowing.

    Cons

for a pay that starts the same as other FI, their system is EXTREMELY OLD compare to the previous FI I have worked for. And because there is no pinpad, tellers are obliged to ask clients EVERY SINGLE TIME whenever they're on branch to provide their ID's; this is very inefficient. so, if a client comes 5 times that day, he will be asked FIVE TIMES to show his ID, FIVE TIMES to sign in the end. this Also, because I worked for one of the Big 5, to learn their system I have to almost dumb myself. Overall, I was treated as a unit they can dispense anytime. Will not work for them ever again

    Pros

Great social events to promote team building and close employment relationships Pay was fair and competitive, additional benefits related to loans and investments were a great perk Less pushy about sales quotas than most of the big banks

    Cons

Growth can be difficult in some departments/areas as people don't typically move on from certain roles meaning opportunities don't arise often Being a credit union there can be frustrations surrounding mergers which typically aren't uncommon - this leads to disgruntled customers and the need for explaining basic items on a regular basis
