I worked at Seton Healthcare Family full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

I liked the people I worked with, and felt that at least within my department my work was noticed and I was respected as a coworker.

    Cons

Growth opportunities were somewhat slow for my expectations, but this experience will of course depend on the position you occupy.

I have been working at Seton Healthcare Family full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Getting more state-of-the-art equipment. PTO/holiday changes are now fair. Benefits are still good. Pay is competitive but not the best.

    Cons

Squeaky wheels get all the oil - the people who complain loud and long are catered to in order to keep them quiet. Cutbacks have increased workloads for everyone (including management). Absolutely hate the freeze-fire/layoff-rehire cycles.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Know your people (and not just the noisy ones). Some of your best and hardest workers are not inclined to toot their own horns. Also, across-the-board raises are disheartening to those who carry more of the burden. What's the incentive to work harder if the raises are all the same anyway?

I worked at Seton Healthcare Family full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Flexible schedule, good benefits, pay is slightly higher than average

    Cons

Recent budget cuts led to understaffed working conditions and decreased pay and raises/elimination of bonuses

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If your number one priority is patient satisfaction, invest in your nurses. Nurses are the ones actually taking care of the patient the majority of their stay. Nurses are the greatest determining factor for patient satisfaction.

I have been working at Seton Healthcare Family full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The therapy department is super supportive, and they are a fun group of people to work with. I have really enjoyed my 5 years here.

    Cons

Working one weekend/month and covering holidays is not the best scenario, but you get used to it and plan around it etc. There is not a whole lot of opportunity to climb the professional ladder.
