Seton has been a great place to develop as an individual.

    Occupational Therapy (Current Employee)
    Austin, TX

ProsThe therapy department is super supportive, and they are a fun group of people to work with. I have really enjoyed my 5 years here.

ConsWorking one weekend/month and covering holidays is not the best scenario, but you get used to it and plan around it etc. There is not a whole lot of opportunity to climb the professional ladder.

    Solid job

    Patient Access Supervisor (Former Employee)
    Austin, TX

ProsThey paid well, especially for entry level positions. There was clear direction, policies and procedures in place.

ConsIt is easy to get into a rut regarding career progression.

Advice to Senior ManagementSomething needs to be put in place for leadership to identify the strong performers and capitalize on their potential. There also is a need to identify and remove weak leaders.

A Hospital System With A Higher Calling.

    Volunteer (Current Employee)
    Austin, TX

ProsAll of the staff is extremely friendly, the facilities are nice, and everyone truly cares about their jobs.

ConsCertain things go unnoticed, such as a water spill or a broken elevator, which in a hospital, are not great things to go unnoticed. Also, certain areas of the hospitals could use some refreshing. The area around the Paul Bass Clinic in Brackenridge is like walking through the moment leading to the climax in a scary movie.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep doing what you're doing.

Looking for a good job... keep looking... this is not it!!!

    Medical Assistant (Current Employee)
    Austin, TX

Prosits employment... that is the only thing that is positive about this employer. Beats being unemployed

Consmanagement plays more games than the employees, unprofessional environment, employees do what they want if you friends with supervisors. The training is rhetoric and never get implemented. Last minute and inconsistent decisions made that usually result in a disaster

Advice to Senior Managementlisten to your employees and get from behind your desks upper management and resolve real issues. Retain good employees that want to invest n making the company better. Live up to your standards and ensure employees management staff that reliable and trustworthy, not play favorites and who you like. Right will always be right and wrong will always be wrong no matter how you try to change the rules you cant change truth

Tremendous Opportunities to Help Improve Lives of Central Texans

    Professional (Current Employee)
    Austin, TX

ProsYou are working with other people who are engaged in the cause of raising the health standard and well-being of Central Texans. Everyone is treated with respect. The pay is fair to good and the benefits are outstanding. There is a premium placed on people who are problem solvers.

ConsThere are a small percentage of people who see any change as negative and resist. They probably started in healthcare when it was more static, before the advent of data-driven decision making. They can really wipe out your good mood.

Advice to Senior ManagementProvide more career counseling to people who are uncomfortable with industry dynamics. By the way, Charles Barnett is no longer the CEO... it's Jesus Garza

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
