    Pros

    Small office of close-knit coworkers

    Cons

Low pay - the job title does not reflect what my job duties are. For example, I am constantly working on the office's budget and accounting matters. But my job title is Executive Administrator and not something more relevant to my job duties.

    Pros

I feel like my contribution is valued, and that the company at large really cares about maintaining best practices for the treatment of residents. Much better company than any other in the area, that I am familiar with. They are moving toward a more structured system with more oversight, which is good (and is very needed).

    Cons

Not a lot of room for advancement. The only place to go is in to management and there are few positions available. Some of the houses need a lot more oversight from upper management because managers are putting practices in place (or letting staff do so) that are restrictive, mean or borderline abusive. This has been getting a lot better lately, and one of the worst offenders is gone now, but at least one is left. If you get stuck with a bad manager, you're going to have a bad time.

    Advice to Management

Go in to homes an observe the staff and managers occasionally. I have seen upper management be really surprised and upset by practices that have been going on in houses for months or years. It's great to trust your house managers, but trust AND verify.

    Pros

Family-style management, gives the impression of being welcomed in a big family. Management is fair, and you are given the time to be comfortable in your position. Mistakes are tolerated. A good spirit could be felt from employees and the place. It's a very nice place to work in, and you learn a lot.

    Cons

Hours can be long, uncomfortable uniforms and shoes, no possibilities to sit down if you are facing the customer.Very slow upward progression in positions.

    Advice to Management

Promote staff more quickly, and do not hesitate to give them tasks not directly related to their position to change from day-to-day duties.
