    Pros

The people really care about each other. Definite room for upward mobility. Great company values and work life balance

    Cons

Demanding of your time. As a territory manager you have to be very organized, and you sometimes will feel pressure from above to complete tasks appropriately.

    Advice to Management

Be willing to listen more to people below you's opinions. We are the ones in the trenches day to day trying to get things rolling for the company.

    Pros

Great culture and people..Shaw is a pioneer in the flooring industry evident in their commitment to advance their manufacturing culture.

    Cons

Greater cross-training could reduce the 'silo' effect that many long-term employees have.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook

    Pros

The pay is great as well as the medical and dental benefits. It is a laid back environment. Associates tend to work well with each other.

    Cons

No job stability. Management doesn't communicate well and business is in a downward spiral. Ninety percent of the workforce are convicted felons. Facility is dusty, nasty, and it isn't climate control.

    Advice to Management

To become receptive to diverse ideas. Spend some money in renovating the bathrooms and supervisors office. Take some professional classes on how to be a leader in todays workforce.

I worked at Shaw Industries full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I worked at Plt. 52, samples cutting department and loved it. We were like family and worked very well together in that department. The supervisors I worked under during those years were very encouraging and helped out. The insurance was great and the benefits.

    Cons

There is not many cons. If I had to choose something, I'd say that at sometimes of the year there are layoffs, but that was not very often in our department.

    Pros

Great training. Opportunity to work in other cities. Good for straight out of college graduates-good structure company.

    Cons

Be prepared to work probably harder than you'll earn. Some positions are based on who you know-learn the politics. Not many opportunities for ChE engineers unlessu plan on not working on your field. You'll make below avg or median salary range unless you move into dept or higher role.
