    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Medical benefits are good, a little expensive. Need to work more as a team.

Great pay. Great benefits. Tom is the best supervisor. If you can get on his shift, work hard and show up when you are expected to work. He listens, cares, and understands.

    Cons

If they don't like you then your out of there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Shearer's Foods full-time

    Pros

When top pay achieved, will be decent. Benefits pretty much the same as anywhere else. Work is indoors so weather not a factor. Upper management is approachable, true open door policy.

    Cons

By far the biggest drawback to this place is the mentality of trying to put 5 pounds of stuff in a 3 pound bag. Would run so much smoother if the machines had an actual maintenance schedule and were run at slower steady speeds. Health insurance is too expensive to get unless your in management or have two incomes, but as said above, that's the same anywhere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Read the story of the tortoise and the hare. (Moral - Slower and steady wins the race) People and machines will not break down as often.

    Pros

Good benefits if you last there long. Some really nice people there, who put all there effort into the job. Good work ethic and values of the company at large. Medical and Dental benefits. Also, have a good retirement plan. 401k plan. Supervisors seem nice on a first meet basis. Get in shape from working.

    Cons

Unwanted sexual harrasment on the factory floor. Having to work with mean people, who would probably never would get hired anywhere else. Hiving to work at a fast pace rapid speed while having while having to be nice to people that are really mean towards you. Having one of the QC guys just stand and stare at you while packing chips and tries to follow you to your car at the end of work. Just basically non-hospital co-workers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Teach some of your employees how to act in a professional work environment manner.

    I worked at Shearer's Foods

    Pros

Worst place I've ever worked, and I've worked in multiple places and states. Worked as a supervisor, and got out as soon as i could.

In fairness, the maintenance apprentice program is the best I've seen.

    Cons

Coming in, they asked me to challenge the way things were done. I quickly saw people lied to, lied about, and worked to death. As soon as i called it out, i was despised until i left. When management makes mistakes (my peers at the time), the go-to strategy is to find someone (usually their report, otherwise someone else's) to blame and burn at the stake. Pay is bad for employees, because they don't have to pay more. I'm glad I got out with my conscience mostly in tact, and you couldn't pay me enough to go back.

BEWARE! They are growing, and will lie to your face to get you to join. For example, I was told the person in my position before me was promoted. A week after i started, i was informed that he was fired.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pray for forgiveness.
