    Pros

Friendly call center environment. Never a dull moment. Constantly challenging. Different call each time. Supervisors very helpful. Good benefits.

    Cons

You have to have a strong constitution and loads of patience to work in a call center whose main function is to handle complaints.

I have been working at Shoes for Crews full-time

    Pros

The office is nice and some great people work there

    Cons

Where does one start when discussing a once great company? About 4 years ago an investment group purchased the majority interest of this once great organization. The new management team seems to be going in circles and sales continue to show a steady decline. Positions continue to be eliminated but the executive team still travels between their homes in the mid west to south Florida on a weekly basis. These gentleman have no redeeming value to help increase sales and have little or no knowledge of the industry. They decided to outsource the majority of customer service off shore to save money, customer service has seen a steady decline since this change took place. The Smiths should sell what they still own in the company and run as the company they built no longer exists.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Understand your staff resents you and your high paychecks and shortened workweeks as you must fly to Florida Monday afternoons and fly home either Thursdays or Fridays. The real people doing the work are not treated well with low salaries and poor benefits.

I worked at Shoes for Crews full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The few normal people who were my saving grace to survive the horrible days I had when walking in this environment. That is 100% it. No other pros.

    Cons

Where do I start? The morale in an office where people are fired everyday who have been with the company 10, 20, 30 years is understandably low. People who (for reasons very much unknown) have dedicated their careers to this awful place are being tossed out like pieces of garbage. The micromanagement from "management" is their way of trying to control the way things have always been done in this company. Don't expect to have a life outside of work because no one else does and misery loves company. Promotions are wrongly given to those who have no experience managing people or working at any other normal companies. "Hidden" affairs between management members are so obvious and when promotions happen for the mistresses involved, it is a real problem. Everyday is just like another episode of a soap opera. Call center employees have turnover so high, you don't even know who people are on a daily basis. Not to mention they keep cutting their jobs and moving operations outside of the US and are cutting those jobs too. It's hard to watch as the CEO drives his fancy cars while these people now survive on welfare. The environment is so dysfunctional and chaotic that nothing ever actually gets done. HR is useless and there are no actual procedures, forms, handbooks or policies in place. IT is sourced out and nonexistent so nothing is ever fixed. The marketing team is run by sales and their turnover is the highest in the company. Sales doesn't actually sell anything and numbers are getting worse and worse because Shoes For Crews has such a terrible reputation and not to mention, product. Web team is a joke and is run by children. Accounting is hit by high turnover too. Basically, no one wants to be there and they either quit for anything else because absolutely nothing could be worse or they are fired for no reason at all. I can't warn you enough to stay away from this place. You will regret ever stepping foot in the door if you are a normal human being.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sell the company and walk away. Your way of doing things is clearly not working. People are so dissatisfied when they walk in the door and you are to blame. Shame on you for the way you treat those who have been so loyal to you for a large portion of their lives. Karma is real and the way you have treated these people will come back around to you. Eventually you won't be driving around in your Ferraris anymore and will have to face the music.

I have been working at Shoes for Crews full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

No Pros, only stories of what was once considered a great company that valued it employees. how did things get so bad?

    Cons

leadership is out of touch, Management is stuck in the P1 and P2 bubble. they have no clue on how to resolve the concerns and issues that affects their employees. 8th floor is disgusting, rug has never been cleaned, CS dept reps are always sick, OSHA would shut us down, compensation is a joke. This company is by far the worst company that I have ever worked for. people feel trapped most are only there until a better job comes along. the turn over ratio at shoes for crews should be concerning to management but it's not. They have out sourced to Costa Rica in attempts to save money but only made things worst.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Customer Service should be the foundation of a company, CS dept is at the front lines addressing the concerns of those who make this machine move, our clients. Shoes For Crews has become a black hole for talent, your most important assets are not there because they love the brand, mission and direction of the company they are their until something slightly better comes along. Wake up!!! your eroding the foundation that made this once a great place to work for. Wake up!! before it's too late.

    Doesn't value its employees

I have been working at Shoes for Crews

    Pros

Compensation and benefits are good, nice office space.

    Cons

Management does not properly value its employees, doesn't listen to feedback and is all about the "bottomline" moreso than keeping employees happy or making changes that would benefit the overall day-to-day operations and increase morale.

I have been working at Shoes for Crews full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great building. Nice location. Some good people to work with. Company pays majority of cost of health benefits which saves employees a ton of money. Decent wages. Matching 401(K) which is VERY rare these days. Once you are employed it takes a lot to get let go. Original management personnel care about employee satisfaction and try to make it a good place to work. Company is very understanding of necessity for life/work balance.

    Cons

Low employee morale. Minimum number of paid holidays. I think management is out of touch with the employees. There seems to be a continual stream of employee turnover, including at the management level, which leads to a continuously unstable work environment. Company used to be privately owned but now has investors which seems to be the driving factor behind the changes in the company and the resultant employee dissatisfaction. Overall, they seem to be struggling to make the transition from a small, privately owned company to a "big" company with investors and the accompanying emphasis on profits and cost cutting.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find a way to stabilize the work environment ASAP because the low morale and constant employee turnover are damaging to the company's long-term health.

I worked at Shoes for Crews full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Created anti-slip FW industry; innovative channel strategy. Good technology..

    Cons

Lack of robust operations culture leads to poor execution and results. Unsophisticated management results in inability to match required resources/talent to prioritized objectives. Success in one business model (sector) leads to a one size fits all sales strategy, which inhibits the company's ability to expand channels, consumers and end-use segments.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be honest about your and the people's abilities; break out of the mode of "Not invented here"; run the business for the long-term; short-term initiatives to drive short-term sales don't add value to the company.

I worked at Shoes for Crews full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Just a paycheck until you find something else. NO PROS!

    Cons

Nothing works here! Not their computer systems, bunch of overpaid upper management. Major labor laws if not human rights violations. They stab you in the back any chance they get if you're not an ass kisser. Micro managed to death! Unscrupulous, bad, deceitful business practices. Customers are lucky to get their shoes and if they do they fall apart like worn out socks! Bad schedules, favoritism rampant! If you don't believe any of these things, call up their useless call center. They'll take your money but never ship your order, their warehouses NEVER get an order right! Customers overcharged for orders! The list goes on! Bad product, bad management, bad working environment! Take the money and run operation! Lucky to have gotten out with my sanity and dignity! Please do not delete this, let this be a warning to others who may wanna work here. I feel bad for my former co workers who have been here forever and are too old or too scared to leave. This is not a rant! This company should be investigated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lost cause, management knows they are doing their customers and employees wrong but don't care just like most companies out there you know most people need their jobs! Just remember karma is a b**** You are not humans!
