Springfield, MO

Former Employee – worked at Shoney's

ProsThe schedule was decently flexible. The job requirements were very standard and change was usually not thrust unawares upon the employees.

ConsAs in most lower end restaurants the manager door was revolving. It because a toss up on whether the new manager would be worth anything or not.

ProsOur General manager takes the time to realize we are people and treats us with the respect we deserve. She does her absolute best to make sure everyone working for her can do their jobs to the best of their abilities. We are a family that takes care of our other employees and our customers. Our customers love coming in and knowing that we know most of them by name and know their likes and dislikes. Our managers take pride in our store some of them even take time and money out of their own pockets to make sure our store runs as smoothly as possible.

ConsWell the whole thing about making us work on Christmas day and Christmas eve was just sorry. We have families to that we want to be home with just like those people higher up in the company, That really made us feel unappreciated and like their families and time was more important than all of ours. We work every holiday through out the year, we deserve this time with our families to. Also some of our leaders and management need to learn how to talk to their employees.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop spending money on things we don't need and try fixing the equipment we need to make our stores run more efficiently. Also realize your employees deserve respect. Train your managers how to interact with their employees because some of them lose sight of that fact.

ProsIt was an ok job.

ConsPoor working environment. U have to be doing something non stop. You are asked to do your job plus someone elses job and get paid very little. It's not worth it.

Advice to Senior ManagementIf you're gonna be asking a person to do more than their share job they were hired for you should be paying them better than you are, and don't treat your employees like crap.
