    It was okay

    Merchandiser (Former Employee)
    Toronto, ON (Canada)

ProsPart time hours are good if you are a student. You get discounts, so when you need anything on a pinch, you an get at any stores for decent prices. I worked with great people so it might just be me.

ConsWhen it gets busy, it can really put the hurt. Sometimes the supervisors can be overbearing and be overdemanding when we are short staffed

    I'd go back

    Contract (Former Employee)
    Toronto, ON (Canada)

ProsThe overall team was great, I had one awesome manager, and there were acceptable benefits. Project team was great. Working with the stores was amazing.

ConsContract workers don't get the same benefits as regular employees. Salaries weren't fair to all who did the same job on the same project.

    Great Company

    Store Manager (Current Employee)
    Vancouver, BC (Canada)

ProsVery focused on there people always take the time to listen here and try to make things better. Changes actually happen

ConsNot super keen on the associate concept associates make great pharmacists but not very good managers of the business. Of course there are a few exceptions that, but not many from what I've seen.

Advice to Senior ManagementSince the business is going towards food and other things outside of pharmacy should look at partnership with associate and managers.

Majority of employees hired are amazing, too bad the workload is more than one person can handle

    Cashier/Merchandiser (Current Employee)
    Ottawa, ON (Canada)

ProsAssociates I have worked for have been wonderful and understanding.
30% discount on regular priced items.
    Easy to store transfer.

ConsNot enough staff to cover the floor because head office only allows a set number of hours.
You are not recognized for your efforts. If you raise a stink, then you get rewarded (ie: Gem awards). Pay raises are not exactly followed properly.

Advice to Senior ManagementYes, we all know you need to make sure stores are profitable but having no staff in stores as of January is pretty brutal. Even having supervisors be the only cashiers, and getting merchandisers to be cashiers and having no one on floor...this is in turn affecting customer service. We are not able to get everything out onto the floor in time. Please budget more hours. You cut hours by a ton, and then cut it even more when we were hurting. There is a lot of grumbling around of people moving onto other jobs because of this dissatisfaction.

Low pay, little employee reward, cut hours

    Cashier (Current Employee)
    Toronto, ON (Canada)

Pros30% discount on non-sale items. Other than that, nothing really.

ConsLow pay, little employee reward, hard to get good hours, hour/staff cuts across the company reflecting in stressed out employees and worse customer service.

Advice to Senior ManagementIf you want your company to have a good reputation for service or any positive image at all, stop cutting staff! It's good to have spare staff, even if they happen to have a few minutes of not doing things here and there. It's not inefficiency if your sales go up due to good customer service! Miserable employees generally do not provide this.
