Decent for retail, but avoid if possible

Produce Clerk (Former Employee) Paramus, NJ

ProsJob is easy to pick up, though difficult to do well. Union has some benefits. Compensation is above minimum wage.

ConsPromotions very uncommon and rarely based on merit. Almost no full-time work. "Discount" is only the Price Plus card. Don't expect more than 25 hours a week. Very little training.

Advice to Senior ManagementWhen you hear of a manager laughing at the news of an employee's relative's death, discipline him. When you hear of a manager dismissing customers as "kikes," discipline him.

    Overall management could be better.

    Cashier (Former Employee) Gibbstown, NJ

ProsThe best reasons to work here is because your job is protected by the union. You get full insurance benefits after a certain amount of time. Employee discounts during breaks. And if you lose your job, you can call the union.

ConsBecause your job is protected by the union, sometimes your pay isn't protected or handled right. If there is a pay change, people will go to the same amount and you basically lose your seniority.

Advice to Senior ManagementIf someone needs a shift change, you should try harder to actually work with them so they dont have to lose their jobs.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

    satisfied with job

Stock Clerk (Current Employee) Englewood, NJ

ProsGood management, listen to complaints and work well with employees. listen to request for more hours.

ConsTend to hire incapable workers that get in the way, overall a very high paced work area, and open 24 hours and 7 days a week, almost no days off provided if you are a good worker. ignore requests for hour reduction

Advice to Senior ManagementWork-Life Balance, management believe that there is only room for work but like to acknowledge family. Management tends to pretend to care of out of work issues and emergencies but don't listen to requests for reduced time at work.
