I worked at Shure full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I have worked with a few employers and Shure by far the best place I have ever worked. It is a high technology company with cool products and a great culture. There is a lot of diversity (both age and race) and people genuinely love to come to work. I can't imagine the thought of ever leaving!

    Cons

Not really anything overly concerning. If I had to list something I would say that decisions require a few levels of approval, which can be challenging at times. But the collaborate decision making process has done the company well so far!

I worked at Shure full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

-Very Good benefits for medical and dental, - excellent vacation, personal days (8) and holidays (10), -good family plans, 401k "profit" sharing and other perks - work from home available (though abused), - good culture and work environment, -knowledgeable engineering groups in Acoustics, RF and Mechanical, Good to above avg Project Managers, Stable company for the most part

    Cons

-With non-US Manufacturing facilities expect 25% travel, rework & delays to market, -dysfunctional management groups especially Quality, Process, Marketing & Supplier Quality as they can't make a decision if it was handed to them, -Supply Chain is a disaster, -politics, -BEWARE of HR: Document everything and keep it safe,- if you're 45+ good chance you won't get hired or if you're 55+ you could be "forced out" and other alleged practices,- lack of movement/promotions unless you know someone as its not merit based, -lack of training opportunities, however, if you can work with low expectations and not rock the boat you can work here for years.

    Advice to Management

If the group was honorable sure, but in this case no point.

    I worked at Shure full-time

    Pros

Overall dedicated team that wants to make great products and is very passionate about doing so. Work/life balance is overall pretty good and can be quite good if you know how to manage things. Occasionally pretty interesting projects. Overall pretty good work environment. Decent opportunity for growth if you're in the right department. Decent benefits.

    Cons

Empty suit and very bizarre CEO lets an oligarchy of his direct reports really run the company and constantly jockey for position, which can lead to poor coordination and lack of focus on overarching goals. Lots of lifers at some levels who checked out years (or even decades) ago, and who maybe never really checked in, who either do nothing or do things that are counter-productive. A corporate culture that is generally more scared of losing what it has than building something new.

    Advice to Management

Continue to get rid of the dead weight (including a few at the top) and try to get some real cohesiveness across divisions.

I have been working at Shure full-time

    Pros

Great work and life balance. Great reputable product line. It's hard to go wrong.

    Cons

Products are mainly professional geared. Needs to diversify product line, but senior management chooses not to serve consumer markets. Decisions are always customer driven, even when it doesn't make business sense.
