I have been working at Shure full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Shure is a great company that is very loyal to its employees. Most people there work to live, so it's not hard to balance a busy life. There are a lot of smart people working on neat products. You get the chance to work on products seen and heard by millions of people.

    Cons

The company culture is very conservative and slow moving, so they tend to follow competitors in many areas. Because the brand is popular, they can pay people slightly below average. The upper level executives seem out of touch with the engineers, even though they are excited about the products. Promotions happen fairly slowly unless you have a close connection to someone higher up the chain.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take more risks, pay people more to manage the cost of living, and increase the communication and openness of upper management.

I worked at Shure full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

actually my last year with them was 2009 when an advertised "director of procurement " and his right hand axe decimated a very professional group.

    Cons

a global champion in micromanagement. a company soon to be an engineering company only. all of their manufacturing will be outsourced

    Doesn't Recommend
    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Shure

    Pros

Shure provides a welcoming environment with people who are helpful, dedicated, and supportive. Having worked at a handful of other companies, and wanting to find a place I could devote my career path to, I know I have found a place to stay. The excitement of the industry flows through the halls of the corporate building, which has so many unique features to compliment the company's focus of quality. There is always something going on to celebrate an occasion, and trainings are constantly provided to develop skills and knowledge. Company values, financial strength, and a team I can count on and grow with, are at the top of my list for why Shure is an incredible place to work.

    Cons

In my area of work, there is nothing I would feel the need to mention.

I worked at Shure full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Forward thinking cross-functional product development and industry-leading product quality.

    Cons

Very conservative, slow moving and paid below market rate (sometimes well below) for almost any position because of the desirability to work there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Protect your core wireless microphone business, but take more chances to grow. The wireless business will not be the same forever.

I have been working at Shure

    Pros

Great work environment and employees. Very intelligent people that are always willing to learn new things or help others understand. Many people stay with the company for a long time so it seems like a company where a long term career can be achieved.

    Cons

sometimes takes a long time to get things done
