    Pros

The flight benefits are a good perk. You can advance quickly with some hard work.

    Cons

I seems like the company does not care about turnover so we have a lot of new hires.

    Advice to Management

Focus on creating a better culture to keep employees from leaving.

I have been working at Shuttle America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits are awesome! Great! Being a flight attendant is a great job in it self.

    Cons

Don't expect phone calls back or timely response to emails. Don't expect to understand how your pay works. When it come to understanding pay and or how to use your benefits if a problem arises expect to be given the run around. Management is petty. Oh! And a monthly fee that I never authorized nor was explained in training is taken out of my checks, I asked multiple departments about this and never received an actual explanation.

I worked at Shuttle America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

At the time Shuttle America was growing, however due to pilot shortages from not offering a contract for over 12 years the airline is suffering and aircraft are now being moved from one certificate to the Republic Certificate, there is little company growth however, many flight attendants are leaving for other carriers, resulting in a lot of movement. There is no min hour requirement, so you can work as little or as much as you like offering a lot of flexibility once you have senority and can swap and drop. The CEO Bryan Bedford is a smart cookie, however he doesn't seem to understand that the FAs are the hugest part of the operation when it comes to customer service.

    Cons

Management is rarely supportive. They would take the word of another rather than support their own. Usually around the 5 year mark, they begin to look for problems with crewmembers and find a way to terminate them. There is no employee recognition program, but they are very quick to point out problems or things done wrong. The pay is okay, however the current contract really needs to be amended for a number of reasons.

    Advice to Management

Acknowledge your superstars, recognize when your employees do something good. Take the word of your employee and support them in everything they do. A happy work environment means happy employees, happy employees leads to happy customers which leads to happy shareholders.

    Pros

Not many that can come to mind.

    Cons

Horrible Training Dept. They don't know what they are doing themselves.

    Advice to Management

Really invoke your back to the employee satisfaction principles. What a crock!

I have been working at Shuttle America full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

United and delta benefits with good health care . Short reserve time at EWR base only because the turnover is so fast - half will get fired other half will quit . 2 times able to use commuting policy without punishment.

    Cons

The pay is 17.73 with only 75 hours at that pay scale payed to you. Layovers are all less than 12 hours so no time to explore the new city your at. Terrible Union and work rules. If your on reserve only 11 days off which your reserve time is 3:00 am to 3:00 pm so half the off days your getting start in the middle of the night. Cleaning the plane. You will sit airport standbye for ten hours a day and then go home and be required to do the same thing 12 hours later, almost 10 times every month. It makes regular reserve ( sitting at home on call ) look appealing . No time or money to use benefits. Terrible management . Sick call use is accompanied with a write up.

    Advice to Management

Your culture is terrible. The management in training discussed how they try to have employee appreciation and have been trying to make the culture better . But you would have to fire everyone who currently is working there and re hire all new people because that's how much disgust for this company I have encountered . Not one good comment which is sad and opinions are like fire.. Spreads fast.

I worked at Shuttle America full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Easy to be hired. Paid three week training. Great colleagues (for the most part). Can be a fun work environment, depending on the crew members.

    Cons

Limited flying locations (East and Central US cities, Canada). Mainly short haul flights. Company cares more about bottom line than employee morale.

    Advice to Management

Leadership needs to really listen to employee morale dissatisfaction items. Happy employees make for a more profitable company, not the reverse.
