Former Employee – worked at Siemens AG full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Long term employment, decent overall benefits package, a lot of opportunity to travel internationally and learn about other cultures through working with non-US colleagues, the company doesn't generally make knee-jerk decisions.
Cons – It helps A LOT to be German...if you are in a group where hard decisions need to be made, German employees (due to their employment laws) will get preferential treatment. Salary (not other benefits) tends to be slightly lower than what you can get at a strong US competitor in the same area.

Current Employee – been working at Siemens AG full-time
Pros – Best type of work, "saving lives"
Cons – not a new kid on the block kind of company like Google or LinkedIn. More traditional and slower.
Advice to Senior Management – Less red tape, more bold.

Current Employee – been working at Siemens AG full-time for less than a year
Pros – If you want a company that is interested in your personal development, this is the best place to be......The pay does not commensurate the job role but the benefits is far worth it.......
Cons – The pay is not encouraging and no room for people with short term ambitions.......Also as the company is growing employee pay review is not increasing
Advice to Senior Management – Keep the Good Job

Former Employee – worked at Siemens AG full-time for more than a year
Pros – Decent Pay and Benefits
Value Knowledge
Work with a lot of smart engineers
Cons – What came across to me most was a "if you can't make it, fake it" culture. You were given numbers you were expected to hit and even management would tell you that if the team couldn't hit the numbers (because they were often a bad standard made by people who didn't understand the process) then you needed to find a way to make it look like you did.
In my opinion they also came across has having 0 loyalty. I was in a program for up and coming leaders that they spent quite a bit of money on. I left because after going on unnecessary company trips and outings we would go back to facilities and watch people get laid off. I knew that if that was what they were teaching upcoming management was ok in their company - I wanted nothing to do with it.
Advice to Senior Management – Stop micromanaging the individual contributors by making decisions on their numbers from a different country - or if you do, listen to reason when they tell you its not possible. You are only hurting yourself but creating a culture where it is better that they lie to you about the numbers. Can't figure out why your savings never seem to match the numbers your teams are reporting? That's why!

Current Employee – been working at Siemens AG full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Pay is reasonable. Benefits are about average. Lots of opportunities for learning.
Cons – If you are in the U.S. you are not an equal with your European counterparts. Goal setting and reviews are quite arbitrary. Stating that only a tiny number of people should be rated 4 or 5 totally destroys motivation.
Advice to Senior Management – Think about what your people are doing for you rather than fitting them into a mold.

Former Employee – worked at Siemens AG as an intern for less than a year
Pros – There were none except maybe their cafe.
Cons – 1) The entire department is talking behind interns if one doesn't submit work on time or makes any mistake..... I was here for descent challenge but they expect new interns to know everything without any clear instructions..Absolutely brutal.
2) You better know Excel inside out....above advanced skills to survive here.
3) If you're not meeting their expectations they will kick you out....this is the first time I ever saw a company kick out interns which i find ridiculous.
4) The most unprofessional place I have ever seen, Senior Directors and managers cursing out on regular basis but it didn't bother me.
5) The internship was just horrible especially the work.

Current Employee – been working at Siemens AG full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Good job security.
OK pay.
Good benefits.
Good work environment.
Projects are challenging.
Great co-workers.
Cons – Big mess internally. Organization is not well defined and it changes frequently.
Roles are not clearly defined and work loads are very unbalanced.
Employee performance is evaluated based on silly targets, rather than focusing on what really matters to make your department/company successful.
Advice to Senior Management – Get rid of all the useless bureaucracy.
Make it easier for employees to do productive work.
Boost up morale by rewarding individuals based on their performance, and not on global success.
