Pros
Opportunity to learn as much as you want and to take responsibility. Bene's a little above average
Cons
Job competition is fierce, uses old GE model for management rotation-new managers every 2 years-they feel need to put their personal stamp on an organization and then move on for next person to clean up. Massive centralized control infrastructure.
Advice to Senior Management
Get rid of massive centralized infrastructure (in Germany and in-country. Talk more freely to "all" employees about how to get to be a "chosen one"

Poor career development, long term outlook
Advice to Senior Management
Look farther ahead than the next few months.
Pros
One of the fastest growing business
Cons
very small industry, not many opportunities outside of industry
Advice to Senior Management
Give more opportunities to junior staff. Value employees education not just experience, hire more masters degree graduates. Provide competitive compensation
Pros
Good pay. Good people to work with. Excellent benefits. Unique work environment and an opportunity to learn how alarm systems work.
Cons
The management does not listen to their employees. They automatically assume the worst. Too much bad blood between departments, resulting in unnecessary conflict.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to your employees. Don't automatically assume that they are wrong. Take the time to listen to their issues and if there is something that you caught wrong with the employees, don't automatically think it's their fault regardless if they were the ones working on an account.
Pros
Big company, can move other places if needed. Lots of resources as well.
Cons
Big company. Lots of red tape and processes to follow. many steps needed to get things done and if they are not done correctly, you need to go back and do them over again. Paperwork gets in the way.
Advice to Senior Management
Train management on a local level to be leaders and not just managers.
Pros
Good company to work for if you have prior industry experience. The best part about the job was freedom, and financial support.
Cons
As with all corporations you will deal with weekly deadlines for different training classes that do not relate to your core responsibilities.
Advice to Senior Management
More hands on support locally rather then sending the information through 45 different managers. More training on your core responsibilities.
Pros
Siemens is a great place to work due to the perks; company car, good earning potential, and benefits. Overall, this is a great company.
Cons
The negative is the size of the organization, with layer upon layer of management, sometimes it is difficult to get things done and satisfy your customers.
Advice to Senior Management
Stay customer focused. Don't get so caught up in the internal business process that you forget who ultimately pays the bills.
Pros
Money was good during first few years.
Cons
No advancement. Lethargic management unable to make decisions and be accountable.
Advice to Senior Management
Make a decision and stand accountable.
Pros
Ability to make a difference
Given opportunities to succeed
Management takes the time to listen
Peers that work together
Authority to complete assignments
Cons
Too many items to focus on
Some over done policy manuals
Operations run by the numbers and not by people
Advice to Senior Management
Hire the right individuals and let them succeed.
