Advice to Senior Management
be flrexible
Pros
Allows flexible schedule, team environment.
Cons
No telecommute option available and would like to see it.
Advice to Senior Management
Allow telecommute at leat once per week.
Pros
It was a base salary plus commission. Pretty good for first job out of college.
Cons
Commission was not that great if you weren't a super star.
Advice to Senior Management
Look to make better incentives for the sales force.
Pros
Very pleasant and interesting colleagues, international, good compensation, good work-life balance.
Cons
After hired, limited career and compensation advancement; employees and managers left alone in the jungle (very political) and nepotism seems to be dominating; Quite a high percentage of management not very capable - sorry (i.e. Peter principle seems to apply)
Advice to Senior Management
Be inspiring, motivational, delegate responsibility; do not reinvent the wheel and rather talk to the other teams/departments, they might be working on a solution already...
Pros
Get experience for summer students
Cons
Heavy layer of middle management
Advice to Senior Management
Clear the focus and stick to it
Pros
- Great people
- Work/life balance encouraged
- Stability that comes with a Fortune 500 company
Cons
- Not enough resources provided to support work/life balance
- Too much paperwork and checks/balances makes for inefficient processes
Advice to Senior Management
Hire more people, specifically systems and service specialists.
Pros
Great , interesting and constant work
Cons
Salary is minimal.Must be increased.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay us more please. We shall be the best.
Pros
Great benefits, easygoing work culture.
Very healthy office environment
Cons
Feedback from Management was nonexistent
Severe lack of training until several months in
No room to move internally, though this may be partially caused by recession
Completely disconnected from other parts of Siemens
Advice to Senior Management
Please provide training to your employees earlier, especially on using proprietary software.
Pros
Siemens is a large organization with diverse areas to work on. It has the potential to provide some great experiences to an MBA with lots of opportunities for improvement.
Cons
Communication is not the best at Siemens. The culture is not one that promotes extensive communication. Also, being a large organization, this a slow moving machinery.
Advice to Senior Management
Promote employee feedback in the organization and show them how it is being implemented. Quicken the processes within the organization to enhance efficiency.
Pros
Great opportunity for a career starter, good exposure to international markets, bright heads at work
Cons
Crumbing leadership crippled by constant politicking
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on customers, not the paperwork
