Smart and talented people at all levels, good compensation and an opportunity to meet and work with many cultures.

Quality Manager (Current Employee)
DFW, TX

I have been working at Siemens full-time for more than 10 years

ProsTremendous resources, Siemens is an incredible force when focused. Technically they have great depth and breadth.

ConsInconsistent direction, reorganizations and management changes are the norm in some groups. The focus is on today and this quarter. Finances a critically important but too many decisions are based on this month and this quarter which are contrary to a long term growth strategy. There needs to be a guiding principle and all decisions need to be measured against how they support it this month, next year, and the next five years.

Advice to Senior ManagementDevelop a process for keeping good management at sites longer and discourage turnover of Sr. Staff every two years. Encourage consistent leadership and direction. A three year plan is of limited use when management is assured to change every two years.

Electrical Engineer Hardware Intern (Former Employee)
Hoffman Estates, IL

I worked at Siemens as an intern for less than a year

ProsAs an intern, you have a wide range of projects and experiences. You get to work with a variety of teams/engineers who all know their stuff.

ConsFor a full time employee, you would have to pursue a more in-depth understanding of the medical intricacies.

An Education

Plant Manager (Former Employee)
Woodward, OK

I worked at Siemens full-time for more than 3 years

ProsA lot of opportunity for overtime, due to constant manpower shortage. A chance to prove yourself without proper recognition. Allowed to have responsibility without the authority to perform required duties.

ConsWill drop you without a second thought. Double standards for upper management and all those below. A lot of talk about management wanting to support but no action to follow. Many managers that cannot make a decision in a timely manner. Overall a lack of support from senior management.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop having a standard for management that is different from those below you. Remember the blue collars are the foundation of your success. Senior management is so focused on the next step in the career, they lose focus on the people that make them successful.

Good place to work most of the time

Manager (Former Employee)
Atlanta, GA

I worked at Siemens full-time for more than 10 years

ProsSome of the people were great to work with and had great professional and friendships with them for a long time

ConsToo large of an organization, being one of the largest in the world, corporate was always coming out with new policies that weren't always in sync with other policies coming out of corporate that we had to implement

ProsStock share and working in doors. Plus it is a huge firm with locations all over the world.

Ready to move on

Project Manager (Current Employee)
Miramar, FL

I have been working at Siemens full-time for more than 5 years

ProsWorked with many great people. Culture was friendly for the most part.

ConsOnly a select few actually are capable of doing the work. HR handcuffs management too much and does not allow to make appropriate actions that would benefit the business.
