Pros
great work life balance and interesting projects and an opportunity to generate good intellectual property and publish in reputed conferences.
Cons
Slow pace of work and bad procurement cycles. The usual disadvantages of being in a large global company, one might feel alienated with the product.
Pros
Lot of research is going and friendly environment. Good fun filled environment. very flexible time schedule. very supportive and encouraging. I loved the place
Cons
The pay is good but there are no other incentives to the employees. and also there are too many interns working
Pros
Ability to make an impact on the company, applied research
Excellent people to work with
Flexibility in work set-up / style
World-known experts in their field
Atmosphere/ culture
Very diverse work space, 36 nations under one roof
Global Technology Fields, opportunities to work abroad for a longer period of time
Everyone, incl. support staff cares
Cons
IT set-up driven by overall Corporation, not always the latest technology
Some of the technical managers are not always good people managers
Being integrated into Siemens Corporation has made a lot of the processes more cumbersome, since they were not designed for a research environment, not a big issue but takes time away from value add work
Pros
A large variety and exciting set of problems.
Cons
Low compensation. Incompetent Management, No long term strategy.
Pros
good environment for study and very good place for internship
Cons
not too much stress, but get great space for research
Pros
Good balance between work & life. Interesting research problems from real-life. No academic stale-water
Cons
Monkey business of chasing very volatile customer preferences & desire to fund R&D work. Management does not recognize that early stage R&D is inherently risky technology-wise and project-wise. Company used to be independent but got merged with a corporate - lots of red-tape, ousourced processes, understaffed & unprofessional administrative people etc.
Advice to Senior Management
Find a more competent & aggressive CEO asap
Pros
Work with different business units.
Innovation.
Cons
Challenging work environment.
Funding pressure.
Producterization pressure.
Publication pressure.
Advice to Senior Management
Provide more training programs.
Pros
The best reason to work would be the work culture and the growth opportunities and exposure through collaboration with other divisions globally.
Cons
the downside would be relatively lower pay scale but it is not very low from industry average. the other downside would be lack of a second tier leadership.
Advice to Senior Management
To promote the new and fresh talent to create stronger and more stable teams. Focus on quality research partners in academia not just locally.
Pros
Lots of talented people are working on interesting projects. There is library and access to lots of information. The Princeton area is a nice place to live. Good chance to network with big name experts.
Cons
Research can turn into a lot of development. Princeton is an expensive place to live. Lots of security for little discernible reason. May need a bigger building soon.
Advice to Senior Management
