Pros
Great experience working in coroporate settings. Lots of users makes for a lot of work. Steady flow of work ensures some level of job security. The managers are pretty nice people as far as I've seen and there is a lot of intercommunication to pick up slack when another worker is out. You are given a chance to explain if your quota is not met or exceeded. Competitive Salary.
Cons
Micromanagement leads to less productivity. There are a lot of meetings (conference calls) to keep an eye on what progress is being made at different sites. Big company does make you feel like you could get lost in the shuffle (at Siemens, not the client). Company is merging, which leaves you a little unsure of security.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the good work, although it sometimes it feels like a bit much, a well oiled machine will get more use.
Pros
When done right Siemens and they Siemens 1 Go To Market approach is hard to beat.
Cons
Siemens SIS is not seen by Siemens Corp as strategic unit.
Pros
Good place to start
Learn new skills
Meet new people
Get foot in doors
Cons
Not too much technical skills with the management on my account
too many changes happening
Advice to Senior Management
If anything changes on employees status, management should give 2 week notice and not when it happens.
Pros
Decent compensation, good work life balance
Cons
no growth in the organization. No leadership focus
Advice to Senior Management
Work on growth
Pros
One of the things the company did very well was take care of its employees during special circumstances. For example, days with heavy snow usually meant that we had lunch provided for us in the break room, and hotel rooms available nearby to ensure that people could get to work the next day. The same was true for a freak hurricane that came through the area. Plus, there were days about once a quarter to every other quarter when we got chocolate fountains or other various snacks.
Cons
Employee morale was actually rather low. There was very little pride taken in working for the company, and in general employees didn't even TRY to understand the decisions of upper management.
Advice to Senior Management
Recognize your high performers a little better, and give people who can clearly handle it a little bit of challenge to the job. This just not mean just giving them more grunt work, but actually make it meaningful work. Otherwise, you're leaving an otherwise very dedicated employee too bored on the job to enjoy it, and performance starts to wane.
Pros
a lot of vacation and flex time and great benefits
Cons
being contracted out to another company makes it very hard to feel a part of either company, get attention from either, and therefore- tough to get praise or a raise from either. i feel i have absolutely no support from either of my managers at microsoft or siemens
Advice to Senior Management
there should be a way to handle position and hr related issues when a person is contracted out to another company. i feel i have absolutely no support from either of my managers at microsoft or siemens
Pros
Great PTO vacation time off
Good certification program
Tuition reimbursement
Cons
- Management don't care for their employees
- Low pay
- Managers are disrespectful to employees
- Empty promisses
- Managers only care about contracts not the quality of work.
- No recognition for good techs
- Low motivation
Advice to Senior Management
Wake up and don't be so selfish, don't make empty promisses to employees thats why Siemens has a bad reputation with other companies, lost one account with Microsoft and will loose more accounts. Changed their name to Atos now.
Pros
flexible timing
good work life balance
used to give good benefits other than salary
nice people
Talent recognition in other ways - although not paid enough
Cons
not too many customers
not too many projects
keeps selling the company - why there is no business profit?
after selling to ATOS, what is the future - unknown.
Advice to Senior Management
recognise the talent.
saving a rupee today, might cost a 1000 tomorrow
atleast this is the only asset you have for a service industry
Pros
People within an organization worked well together.
Cons
Complete lack of work life balance.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to the employees.
Pros
The benefits above average. Time off is great. Flexible work schedule/hours.
Cons
Compensation is low.
To make any thing decent, you need to be hired from the outside.
