Leadership is horrible and employee are not treated fairly!

    Staff Scientist (Former Employee)
    Malvern, PA

ProsStill the best in technology in medical domain, better and stronger than Philips, especially GE in Innovation!

ConsThere are a lot of middle level managers useless and ready to take advantages on employees. There is no much leaderhip in local management. Credits can be taken by managers or some senior colleagues. Collaboration internal and external is a big issue. Employee satisfication rate is low!

    HArd Work Pays Off

    Project Manager (Current Employee)
    Malvern, PA

ProsThe company is big enough that if you are unhappy in your role or with your manager you can switch.

ConsIf you want to apply for a new role executive approval is needed for a raise higher than 15%.

Advice to Senior ManagementUgh where do I begin?

Accepting this Internship offer was one of the worst decisions of my life!!!!

Supply Chain & Purchasing Intern (Former Employee)
    Malvern, PA

ProsThere were none except maybe their cafe.

Cons1) The entire department is talking behind interns if one doesn't submit work on time or makes any mistake..... I was here for descent challenge but they expect new interns to know everything without any clear instructions..Absolutely brutal.
    2) You better know Excel inside out....above advanced skills to survive here.
    3) If you're not meeting their expectations they will kick you out....this is the first time I ever saw a company kick out interns which i find ridiculous.
    4) The most unprofessional place I have ever seen, Senior Directors and managers cursing out on regular basis but it didn't bother me.
    5) The internship was just horrible especially the work.

Pros- There are smart managers, leaders in their field who want interns to learn and grow
    - Market leading technology, especially in hardware
    - Friendly atmosphere
    - Great social program with other interns

Cons- Interns get limited exposure to real-world projects for confidentiality reasons

    - Interns were given limited technical resources.

Sales are down. Morale is low. Everyone is trying to be useful and look as busy as possible.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Malvern, PA

ProsMedical benefits (why else would you put up with this garbage?)

ConsMicro-managing managers. Top heavy upper management. No vision. Too many seasoned employees who've outgrown their usefulness.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to your direct reports - they're in the trenches all day and know what's going on. Think outside of the box!! Be flexible with your direct reports....nobody wants to work for an a-hole.

    Bright people being under-utilized

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Malvern, PA

ProsVery smart and talented employees. Lower level management is fair.

ConsVery poor staffing decisions made in the past year or two, causing imbalance in some areas. Hiring from across the globe was forced and is foundering, driving up customer dissatisfaction with language barriers and poor product knowledge. Development areas were cut too much, with model bugs sitting for years without resolution. Silos between groups blocks sharing of vital information. Every group is only interested in their own metrics. Some teams are treated poorly, like servants, by other Siemens groups. Too many high-paying administrative positions are being filled, while vital customer-driven positions are cut.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to your employees before making decisions. Don't treat them like children.

    Full of unrealized opportunities

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Malvern, PA

ProsHuge company that can provide a huge diversity of experience. Very complex environment that can bring out the best in people.

ConsThe company promotes top performers (which is great if you are a top performer) but is not much use if you are in the other 95% of the employee population.

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus on building all employees, not just the top performers. Need to improve communication with meaningful content to all employees and not just the top level.

Could be great There is a lack of creativity and a inability to make needed changed to help the business develop.

    Software Engineer (Current Employee)
    Malvern, PA

ProsI love interacting with our customers and helping them solve their problems. The people are very motivated and creative and the lower levels.

ConsUpper Management does not provide leadership and direction. This is like a big ship floundering in the ocean. This company makes money in spite of them-self.

Advice to Senior ManagementOpen up let your people work with you.
