I have been working at Siemens full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Siemens is a global company. There are plenty of opportunities to work anywhere in the world that you choose. The company is very forward thinking and always improving the work environment in innovative ways.

    Cons

Siemens is a very large company. With nearly 300,000 employees worldwide and a presence in approximately150 countries around the world. As such there are many guidelines and processes to ensure uniformity and standardization. Therefore sometimes things do not move as quickly as in small to medium companies. However that is expected of working for a global conglomerate. The positives far outweigh this minor annoyance. And trust me after a while it becomes a minor annoyance.

    Advice to Management

Slow down on restructuring. Frequent restructuring and reorganization has become a norm at Siemens in the recent years. We have a great board of advisers, and CEO / CFO (Siemens AG). Perhaps it is time to stick with a structure and overall strategy for a few years and give it a chance.

I have been working at Siemens full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good company to work for, with plenty of opportunities to move around internally.

    Cons

Average year-to-year pay increases are 3% unless you've moving up in salary bands. This obviously depends on performance exhibited.

    I worked at Siemens full-time

    Pros

Siemens is a large company and there are a lot of divisions throughout the US and around the world world you can find job opportunities.

    Cons

There are multiple approval levels to get anything done and it takes a lot of time to do simple tasks.

I have been working at Siemens full-time

    Pros

Good salary, great people to work with. Potential to learn a lot in your role. Global company that looks excellent on your resume.

    Cons

I think more emphasis should be placed on development. Making sure that individuals in the organization have an opportunity for growth and promotion. Certain (not all) business units can be overly complexed. A lot of reporting and processes that do not necessarily add value.

    Advice to Management

Develop your direct reports so that they are in a position to take your place when you move on.

I worked at Siemens full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people on the execution teams overall. Very smart and dedicated staff that do their very best every single day.

    Cons

I do not believe that top level Siemens Management has any idea what goes on in the business units. It is the only explanation for them to allow what they do. I can't speak to top level management as they were basically invisible below the business unit level. However, at the business unit level, the management team is completely incompetent and are not "leaders" by any means of the word. They demotivate the employees and protect each other by any means necessary.

    Advice to Management

Advice to top level management: Take a look in the trenches and remove the taskmasters you call managers. They believe their employees are completely expendable and it shows in how they treat them. They have no plan, no strategy, and they do not understand the market, no matter how much their employees (the ones who actually talk to customers) tell them otherwise.
