I have been working at Siemens USA full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Flexible scheduling for salaried employees still attending graduate programs. Excellent health benefits. Excellent employee discount benefits. On-demand training is always available for employees.

    Cons

Like any other job within Finance, month-end close is a rigorous process and often time extremely time consuming and demands more of your schedule.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Development of a clear long-term strategy, and communication of this strategy from top down should have more emphasis. Each business unit varies of course, but there are still business units with unclear strategies/goals.

I have been working at Siemens USA full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

It's a surprisingly laid back workplace. The company pays well, and treats employees with respect and wants to help their employees in all aspects of their lives.

    Cons

The office environment is very old school. Nothing wrong with that I suppose, but it certainly is like a Google office or something.

    Pros

Flexible Managers, great product, fast paced, lots of upward mobility!

    Cons

Its not what you know but who you know and sometimes you can get caught in a rut unless you make an effort to network. Getting noticed is not easy sometimes in this line of work.

I have been working at Siemens USA full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Siemens is a large company, and this grants it benefits that are typical of other large companies such as a fairly stable work environment, improved buffering against economic troubles.

    Cons

Annual "merit" increase is only an adjustment to the Cost of Living adjustment year over year, and is not an actual merit increase. Limited career advancement opportunities without moving to other areas of organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More employee recognition, advancement opportunities without negative impact to existing groups, and better merit increases.

I have been working at Siemens USA full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great work-life balance. Managers say all the right things. Chance for advancement good, esp. if you speak German. Many online tools to learn while on the job.

    Cons

Managers only SAY all the right things. Lack of training for online tools and IT challenges (e.g. disruptions, etc.) will have you pulling your hair out on a regular basis. Minimal communication or team-building. My department (Commercial/Finance) had a total of two (2) meetings in four (4) years. Engineering-based company means Commercials often the last to know about business decisions made by Engineers. It's obvious that upper management (offsite) Executives don't trust local management, even when you consistently achieve very high Margins.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lack of direct management is not a management style.
