Current Employee – been working at Sierra Wireless full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – The atmosphere at the Newark location is very close and employees here are very respectful and team oriented.
Cons – The compensations and raises they give anually/yearly is way below the average market. As an employee working here for almost 5 years my total raise from my starting pay to what I earn now has been $0.75!
Advice to Senior Management – Be open to suggestions from all levels to help improve certain departments. Help appoint leads very all departments and motivate employees with better compensation and promotional opportunities.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Sierra Wireless as an intern for less than a year
Pros – It was a good work environment, people were friendly and welcoming. Generally everyone's helpful in bringing you up to speed and answering any questions. The offices were nice and comfortable, and the cafeteria had subsidized food.
Cons – The manager did a lot of micro-managing. The work was pretty repetitive after a while because it was a lot of routine testing on the same products.

Current Employee – been working at Sierra Wireless
Pros – Sierra Wireless has hommization management. It respects for employee of the development of the ideal, and provides wide-range development space.
Cons – First, Sierra Wireless has high operating costs, especially compare with Huawei, ZTE etc.
Second, Sierra Wireless can't provide competitive salary, so it's hard to hire excellent employees.
Advice to Senior Management – Try to make a difference, provide special value for customer, focus on the high-profit niche markets, avoid price war with Huawei and ZTE etc.

Former Employee – worked at Sierra Wireless
Pros – Learning wireless technology at a detailed level
Top engineering talent, good program managers
Senior management makes careful, well-reasoned decisions
Good health benefits
Good team environment within engineering
Cons – Weak compensation increases across the board, even with positive performance reviews
Limited career growth for engineering. Nearly all executives come from up from sales or marketing ranks.
Company is conservative about going into new areas of wireless. Usually doesn't pull the trigger until a competitor already has something in the market. Doesn't invest incompletely new areas of technology, always building on the last stuff incrementally.

-Friendly staff and respectful management in Sierra.
Cons – -Limited non-RF engineering growth
-Non-RF engineers are prone to layoffs.

Advice to Senior Management – Try to establish a more personal connection with your employee. Don't cut cost by cutting into medical benefit premium and Christmas dinner.
